State Government of Punjab—Punjab Police is recruiting 3726 Males and 2000 Females for the post of “Constable”. Higher Secondary pass candidates may apply for the post. The vacant No. of posts available is according to District/ Zone wise. Details given below—

2. IGP Zone- Patiala (includes—Patiala, Barnala, SAS Nagar, Sangrur, SBS Nagar, Ropar): 400 Nos.
3. IGP Zone- Jalandhar (includes—Jalandhar, Jalandhar Rural, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana C.P, Ludhiana Rural, Khanna and Fatehgarh Sahib): 700 Nos.
4. IGP Zone- Border, Amritsar (Includes—Amritsar C.P, Amritsar Rural, Pathankot, TaranTaran, Batala and Gurdaspur): 300 Nos.

Reserved Seats: As per norms of Govt. 25% seats for SC/ST; 12% seats for Backward Class; 13% seats for Ex-Serviceman and 1% seat for Wards of Freedom Fighters are reserved. For sportsperson, separate recruitment advertisement will be published however they can also apply under this recruitment notice.

Qualification: Candidates should be Minimum Higher Secondary pass or its equivalent in any discipline but in Matriculation level they should have read/appear the subject—Punjabi either as a compulsory or a optional subject.
For Ex-Serviceman minimum required qualification is Matriculation

Age Limit: 18yrs to 25yrs as on dated- 01.01.2011. Age relaxation is as per govt. norms and rules

Pay Scale: Rs.5910- Rs.20200 and Grade Pay—Rs.2000

Candidates’ Height:-
For Males: Height-5ft 7inch.
For Females: Height-5ft 3inch.

Selection Steps: In case of male candidates selection will made by District Recruitment Board and for female candidates selection will be made by Central Recruitment Board. For candidates’ selection there will be Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test And Interview
Physical Efficiency Test: (For Male Candidates) race of 1600 meter In 6 Min 30 Seconds, Long Jump of 3.80 meter in three chances and High Jump of 1.10 meter in three chances.
Physical Efficiency Test: (For Female Candidates) 800 meter race 4 min, Long jump of 3.25 m in three chances and High Jump of 1.05 m in three chances.

Candidates selected from measurement and physical efficiency test will be called for Interview. There is no Written Test for the selection purpose.
Selected candidates will be deployed anywhere in Punjab or even abroad.

How to Apply: Application form can be collected from the Office of Police Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police by paying Rs.100 in cash during the office hours. Application can be collected till dated 17 October, 2011 Or candidates can also download the application form from the official website of Punjab Police – http://punjabpolice.gov.in, in such cases candidates will require to pay the application fee in form of Demand Draft of Rs. 100 in favour of –
For Male Candidates – “Chairman, District Recruitment Board (______) (Name of District for which the applicant applies) be able at_________(District Concerned)”.
For Female Candidate – “Chairman-cum-I GP Zone Recruitment Board for female constable 2011, payable at (___________). (Zone concerned i.e Bathinda, Jallandhar, Border Amritsar and Patiala)”
The Candidate must write his/her name and address at the backside of the bank draft in capital letters.

Last Date of Application: The application should reach within 17th October 2011 at the below given address –
