Recruitment of 11952 Posts of Constable in Railway Protection Force (RPF & RPSF) in Eastern Railway, East Coast Railway, North Eastern Railway and Southern Railway. Last Date Extended.

Under Central government—Ministry of Railway, is recruiting 11952 Boys and Girls for the Post of Constable in “Railway Protection Force (RPF)” and “Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF)”. Candidates will be recruited in four Nodal Chief Security Commission’s Offices, viz. (1) Easter Railway, Kolkata, (2) East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar, (3) North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, (4) Southern Railway, Chennai. Last Date of Application extended up-to 10th May 2011.

Name of the Post: Constable (in RPF and RPSF)

No. of Vacancies: 11952 Nos. (Gen-6901, OBC-2371, SC-1317, ST-1363). Among them 10% seats is kept reserved for Ex-Serviceman.

Who can apply—Madhyamik Pass Boys and Girls aged between 18 to 25 years, i.e. birth date within 1-7-1986 to 1-7-1993, can apply for the post. SC/ST candidates will receive 5 yrs, OBC candidates will receive 3 yrs and Ex-Serviceman will receive as per norms as age relaxation.

Physical height and weight: In case of Boys—Height: 165cm, Chest (Unexpanded/Expanded): 80cm/85cm. Cut-off in height 5cm and chest 3.8cm will be there for SC/ST.
In case of Girls—Height: 157 cm (SC/ST-152, Hill area girls- 155cm)

Candidates should be physically fit with any defects and injury.

Pay scale per month will Rs.5200- 20200 and Grade pay- Rs.2000. beginning pay will be Rs. 8460

For selection of candidates, there will be Written Test, Physical Ability Test, Physical Measurement and Viva-Voice Test.

Written Test will be of 90 Minutes of 120 Objective Multiple Choice Type’s Questions on the following topics:- (I)General Intelligence and Reasoning, (II) Arithmetic and, (III) General Awareness . There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

If qualified in Written Test, will be called for Physical Ability Test which will be of—(I) Race of 1600 meter in 5 min 45 sec. (II) High Jump of 3 feet 9 inches and (III) Long Jump of 14 Feet. In case of Girls—(I) Race of 800 Meter in 3 min 40 sec, (II) High Jump of 3 feet and (III)Long Jump of 9feet.

• Attested copies of Discharge Certificate, in case of Ex-Serviceman
• 2 nos. passport size photo, one pasted on application form and other copy enclosed with application after writing your name and address on its back
• 2 nos self-addressed envelope (28X12 cm) with postal stamp of Rs.5 on each
• Crossed Postal Order or Bank Draft of Rs.40 in Favour of: For Eastern Railway: “The Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer, Eastern Railway” and Payable at—Kolkata. For Southern Railway: “The Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer, Southern Railway” and payable at: Chennai.

No fee required for SC/ST candidates.
On the top of the envelope with application, write: “Application for the post of Constable in RPF including RPSF”. Application can be send through Ordinary Post Only otherwise will be rejected.
