Name of the Post: Head Constable (Ministerial)
Number of Vacancies: 482 Nos. (Gen—181; OBC—92; SC—53; ST—156). Out of total vacancies, 41 is reserved for Ex-Servicemen.
Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary pass (10+2) or equivalent examination AND shall have English Typing with minimum speed of 35 words per minute on computer OR Hindi Typing with minimum speed of 30 words per minute on computer.
Age Limit: Between 18 and 25 years as on 12/3/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Physical Standards :
Male candidates: Height—165 cms (162.5cms for ST and Hill area candidates); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded) —77cms/ 82cms
Female candidates: Height – 155cms (150cms for ST and Hill area candidates); Chest – Not applicable.
Weight (For all candidates): Proportionate/Corresponding to height and age as per medical standards.
Visual Standards (for all candidates): The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other eye without correction i.e. without wearing glasses or lenses. No color blindness.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2400/- per month plus other allowances as per norms.
The post are combatised and purely temporary in nature but likely to continue.
Selection of the candidates will be in two phase —
A. FIRST PHASE–
— Scrutiny/checking of certificates/documents
— Physical Measurement
— Written examination.
B. SECOND PHASE–
— Skill test ( i.e. Typing speed test)
— Interview
— Medical examination
The written examination will be of 200 marks consisting of following four parts:-
— Part -I: Hindi/English Language
— Part -II : General Intelligence.
— Part -III: Numerical Aptitude.
— Part -IV: Clerical Aptitude.

Exact date and venue of First phase and written examination will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format along with Self-attested copies of testimonials in support of Educational qualification, Age proof, Caste certificate and etc.
Candidates shall enclose four recent passport size self attested photographs out of which one shall be pasted on the Application form.
N.B: Candidates shall enclose four self addressed envelopes of 25 cm x 12 cm size duly affixing postal stamp worth Rs.27/- on each envelope with full postal address of the candidate neatly written on envelope in Capital letters.
Candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalies, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir requesting for relaxation in height should produce certificate in proforma/format given in Annexure-D (See the PDF file below)
Application Fee: Application should be accompanied by a Crossed Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft for Rs.100/- (for General and OBC candidates) to be drawn in favour of the DIGP, GC, CRPF of concerned application receiving centre mentioned in Para-16 of the below given PDF file.
SC/ST candidates, all female candidates and Ex-servicemen are exempted from payment of application fee.
The IPO/Demand Draft should be purchased/drawn after the date of publication of this advertisement officially (will be on 15/02/2014) and should be payable/encashed at post office/Bank of the concerned centre where candidates wish to apply.
N.B: CANDIDATES SHALL PURCHASE/ PREPARE THE IPO/ DD ON OR AFTER 15/02/2014 OTHERWISE APPLICATION WILL BE CANCELLED.
Last Date and Address: The duly filled Application form along with enclosures shall reach on or before 12th March, 2014 upto 5PM (19.03.2014 for candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti Districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep).
