The vacancies are for CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) headquarter in Goa and three Regional Centers in Mumbai, Kochi and Visakhapatnam. 1. SCIENTIST (POST CODE: S-401)
No. of Vacancies: 18 Nos. ([UR-08,OBC-06,SC-03,ST-01. Out of which 01 post is reserved for PWD)
Educational Qualification: i) PhD in Aquatic Sciences or Marine Geophysics or Geophysics or Geology or Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences or PhD in Oceanography or Ocean Sciences or Science with specialization in any one of the following topics-
Marine Physics, Marine Geology, Geophysics, Marine Geophysics, Marine Chemistry, Marine Biology, Marine Molecular Biology, Marine Ecology, Marine Sciences, Physical Oceanography, Biological oceanography, Chemical oceanography, Geological oceanography, coastal zone management.
ii) PhD submitted in the above subjects may also be considered.
Desirable: i) Demonstrated excellence in Product Development/ Technology Innovation/ Applied Technology/ Translational Research and also exhibited excellence in research through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
ii) Commendable work in air-sea interaction/ Atmospheric boundary layer/ Physical oceanography/ Climate/ Near-shore dynamics/ Circulation/ Surf-zone dynamics/ Monsoon/ Numerical modeling/Analytical chemistry/Biogeochemistry/Marine chemistry/ Pollution/ Eco-toxicology/ Isotope chemistry/ Marine geophysics and experience in collection, processing and interpretation of Gravity and magnetic data/ Single & multichannel seismic data/ multibeam bathymetry data/proficiency in Fortran or C programming language/ Marine geology/ Igneous & metamorphic petrology/ Geochronology-radiogenic isotope/ Geochemistry/ Petrology/ Taxonomy/ Ocean food web dynamics/ Mangroves/ Sea-grass/ Wetlands/ Molecular Biology/ Marine biology/ Ecology.
Age Limit: Maximum 32 years as on 14.05.2018
Pay Scale: Rs. 67700- 208700/-

 

2. SCIENTIST (POST CODE: S-402)
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos. (UR)
Educational Qualification: i) ME/ M.Tech in Marine Instrumentation, Ocean Engineering, Marine Structures, Offshore structures, Electronics & communication, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
ii) PhD submitted in these subjects may also be considered.
Desirable: i) Demonstrated excellence in Product Development/ Technology Innovation/ Applied Technology/ Translational Research through development of algorithms/ products/ industrial applications/ marine sensor networks.
ii) Commendable work in Coastal Engineering/ Surf-zone dynamics/ Marine instrumentation/ Under Water Robotics/ Mechatronics.
iii) Patents, Publications in peerreviewed journals in the relevant fields.
Age Limit: Maximum 32 years as on 14.05.2018
Pay Scale: Rs. 67700- 208700/-

 

The vacancies are for CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) headquarter in Goa and three Regional Centers in Mumbai, Kochi and Visakhapatnam.

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it in two copies on plain A4 size paper. One copy of the print-out must be retained by the candidate for future references and the other copy is to be send along with attested copies of testimonials (qualification certificate/mark sheet, age proof, caste certificate, experience certificate if applicable and etc), at the below given address so as to reach on or before 21.05.2018.
