High Court of Gujarat, Ahmedabad is recruiting approximately 40 persons to the cadre of “District Judges”. Advt.No. RC/1250/2012. Eligible Advocates may apply for the posts through Online system from the official website of High Court of Gujarat. Candidates will be selected through Competitive Examination. Details below—
Post: District Judge
Vacancies: 40 Nos. (15 posts will be on Regular and 25 posts on ad-hoc)
Qualification and Eligibility: Degree in Law and must be a practicing Advocate in Courts of Civil and/or Criminal jurisdiction for a period not less than 7 years.
Candidates must have basic knowledge of Computer Application.
Age: Candidates should be between 35yrs to 45yrs as on 31/5/2012. Age relaxation for SC/ST/ Socially & Educationally backward Classes, Orthopedically Disabled persons and Ex-serviceman—3yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.51650 – Rs.63260 plus other allowances as per rules.
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected through Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination and Viva-voce (Interview).
Preliminary Examination is likely to be held in June/ July 2012, it will be consist of 2 papers each of 100 marks having Multiple Choice Questions. Paper-I will be on English, General Knowledge & Awareness. Paper-II will be on syllabus of Law.
Qualified candidates from Preliminary Examination will be called for Main Written Examination. Main Written Examination is likely to be held in the month of August/ September- 2012 and will consist of 2 papers. Each paper will be of 100 marks and 3hrs duration. Finally there will be Viva-voce (Interview) which will be of 50 marks.
Call letters will be available in the official website of the High Court for downloading in due course.
Examination Fee: Examination fee of Rs.1000 plus Bank charges should be submitted by interested candidates through any branch of State Bank of India in Current Bank Account No. 30725811785 in the name of Registrar General, High Court of Gujarat, Sola, Ahmedabad.
SC/ST/ Socially & Educationally backward Classes, Orthopedically Disabled persons should pay fee of Rs.500 only.
N.B: The fee should be made using Cash Voucher. The Cash Voucher is available in the official website of Court. Candidates can print-out from there from dated 16/5/2012 to 31/5/2012.
How to Apply: Apply online from the official website of High Court of Gujarat — www.gujarathighcourt.nic.in or http://hcrec.guj.nic.in:8080 .
During registration candidates will have to upload scan copy of passport size image and Signature. Mention the fee details and others without making any mistakes; form once submitted will not be available for correction.
After successful submission of online application form, the system generated Application Number and PIN Number/ Confirmation Number will appear on the screen. Candidates should memorize it and make 2 Nos. print-out copy of it for future correspondence as well as for downloading the Call Letters for appearing in examination.
Do not apply more than once. Fill the application as instructed (please refer the official website, mentioned above, for details).
There is no need to send print-out application and documents by post to the court’s address. All the documents and testimonial will need to produce during viva-voce/ Interview.
