Railway Recruitment Cell — East Central Railway, Patna, is recruiting 4655 candidates for the posts of – Porter, Trackman, Helper and Group-D posts. - Helper – II (S&T): 366 Nos. (Gen—185; OBC—99; SC—55; ST—27). Ex-servicemen – 73 Nos.
- Helper – II (Elect.): 291 Nos. (Gen—146; OBC—79; SC—44; ST—22). Ex-servicemen – 58 Nos.
- Group – D (Engg.): 469 Nos. (Gen—237; OBC—127; SC—70; ST—35). Ex-servicemen – 94 Nos.
- Group – D (Store): 21 Nos. (Gen—10; OBC—6; SC—3; ST—2). Ex-servicemen—4 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Minimum Class 10 pass or ITI/ Centre of Excellence (COE) or equivalent. Candidates awaiting final examination result are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit: between 18yrs to 33yrs as on 01-01-2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Application Fee:
Rs.100/- in the form of Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of – Assistant Personnel Officer (RRC), Railway Recruitment Cell, E.C. Railway, Payable at Patna.
Candidate should write his name and address on the place provided on the Indian postal order (IPOs).
No Application Fee required for SC/ST communities, Women candidates, Minority candidates, Economically backward class, Person with Disabilities (PWD) and Ex-Servicemen.
Candidates’ Selection:
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination. Date and venue will be intimated to the eligible candidates through Call letter.
Written Examination consists of objective type multiple choice ( 4 options) question paper based on 10th class standard to assess the general knowledge/awareness/mathematics /reasoning etc. There will be 100 Questions and the duration of Written Examination will be 90 minutes. Question paper will be set in Hindi, English, Urdu and Maithili.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Based on merit position of the candidates in the written examination, PET shall be conducted for short-listed candidates who qualify written examination and will be as follows —
For Male candidates: 1000 Meters run in 4 minutes 15 seconds.
For Female candidates: 400 Meters run in 3 minutes and 10 seconds.

The Application form must be enclosed with attested copies of testimonials in support of Educational Qualification, Caste certificate, Age proof certificate (Matriculation certificate can be given), PWD/ Discharge certificate, IPO of above prescribed fee and any other relevant documents.
