Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) requires 874 Jr. Overman, Mining Sirdar, Surveyor, Technician, Etc. Last Dt. 25/12/2012

Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd is recruiting 874 candidates for various posts – Jr. Overman, Mining Sirdar, Surveyor, Compounder, Technician (X-ray/ Lab), Staff Nurse, Overseer, Stenographer, Security Sub-Inspector Tech and Etc. Eligible candidates may apply for the post Online or Offline. Qualification norms and brief information is given below—

1. Jr. Overman (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 38 Nos. (Gen—19; OBC—10; SC—6; ST—3)
Qualification:—
i) Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized Board.
ii) Valid Overman‟s Certificate issued by DGMS.
iii) Valid Gas Testing Certificate
iv) Valid First Aid Certificate.
OR
i) Diploma in Mining Engineering of 3 years duration from recognized Institute with valid Gas Testing & valid First Aid Certificate.
ii) Overman‟s competency certificate obtained from DGMS.

2. Mining Sirdar (Tech & Suvr. Gr.C): 505 Nos. (Gen—255; OBC—136; SC—76; ST—38)
Qualification:—
i) Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized Board.
ii) Valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate of competency from DGMS.
iii) Valid Gas Testing Certificate
iv) Valid First Aid Certificate.
OR
i) Diploma in Mining Engineering of 3 years duration from recognized Institute with valid Gas Testing & valid First Aid Certificate.
ii) At-least one year experience as a “Post Diploma Trainee” under the Directorate of practical training in Mining.

3. Dy. Surveyor, (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-B): 19 Nos. (Gen—10; OBC—5; SC—3; ST—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass with valid Survey Certificate of Competency granted by DGMS.

4. Compounder/ Pharmacist (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 83 Nos. (Gen—43; OBC—22; SC–12; ST—6)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and Diploma in Pharmacy and 2yrs of practical training. Candidates must be registered with Pharmacist Council of State.

5. X-Ray Tech/ Radiographer (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 6 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—2; SC—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass with diploma in radiography technology and 3yrs of experience in recognized Institute/ Govt. Hospital

6. Lab. Tech. (Med)/ technician/ Pathological (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 10 Nos. (Gen—4; OBC—3; SC—2; ST—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and Diploma in Pathological Technology/Pathological Technician and 3 years experience in recognized Institute/Govt. Hospital.

7. Staff Nurse (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 20 Nos (Gen—10; OBC—5; SC—3; ST—2)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass with ‘A’ Grade Nursing Certificate plus one year experience from Recognized Institute or one year experience in 50 bedded and above hospital/ Nursing home. OR B.Sc(Nursing) (4 yrs.) from recognized Board or Diploma in General Nursing & midwifery (3 ½ yrs.) from the Institute registered with all India Nursing Council.

8. Overseer (Civil) (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 31 Nos. (Gen—16; OBC—8; SC—5; ST—2)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent and 3yrs of Diploma course in Civil Engineering.

9. Stenographer (English Shorthand) (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 56 Nos. (Gen—29; OBC—15; SC—8; ST—4)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and must have speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and speed of 40 words per minute in English typing.

10. Security Sub-Inspector (Tech. & Suvr. Grade-C): 106 Nos. (Gen—53; OBC—29; SC—16; ST—8)
Qualification: Graduate from recognized University
Eligibility: Candidates must be from Ex-Army/ Ex-BSF personnel or NCC Certificate Holders OR Sportsman of all India Repute
Physical Standard:—
Male Candidates—
a) Height for General/OBC candidates: 5.5 ft (5.3ft for SC/ST)
b) Chest for General/OBC candidates:  32”-34” (30” -32” for SC/ST)
Female Candidates—
a) Height for General/OBC candidates 4‟-10” (4‟-6” for SC/ST candidates)

N.B: Female applicants & Physically handicapped applicants will not be allowed for the post of Mining Sirdar, Jr.Overman & Dy.Surveyor.

Age Limits (For Security Sub- Inspector): between 18yrs to 35yrs as on 01/12/2012.
Age Limits (For rest of all posts): between 18yrs to 30yrs as on 01/12/2012.
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST—5yrs; OBC—3yrs; PH—10yrs and Ex-Serviceman & Others—as per norms.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Personal Interview. The result of successful candidates in Written Test will be available on the official site of ECL – www.easterncoal.gov.in
Qualified candidates from Written Test will be only called for Personal Interview.
Date and venue of selection will be intimated in due course through call letters.

After successful submission of Online application form; candidates should print-out the generated form, sign at the space provided, paste recent passport size color photograph and send to the below address within prescribed date.

For Offline Application: Candidates opting to apply through offline mode should download the prescribed Application Form from the website of ECL. The form should be filled with own handwriting and paste recent passport size color photograph, sign at space provided & send it at the below address.

Enclosures: In both cases the Application Form should be enclosed with the following documents — Two additional photographs, self-addressed envelope with postal stamp, copies of the testimonials, mark sheets/experience certificates, Bank Draft and any other relevant documents in support of eligibility.

Application fee: Demand Draft of Rs. 200/– is to be drawn in favour of Eastern Coalfields Limited payable at State Bank of India, Sanctoria Branch.
SC/ST and PH candidates do not require to pay Application fee.
