Engine Factory Avadi, Under Ministry of Defence, is recruiting 89 semi-skilled worker in various trades such as—Machinist, Fitter General, Examiner, Electrician, Fitter Electronics, Mill Wright, H.T.O., and Electroplater. Details below—
No. of vacancies according to trade wise—
1. Machinist: 23 Nos. (Gen-10, OBC-4, SC-1, ST-8), out of them PH-1 and Ex.S.-3nos.
2. Fitter (General): 37 Nos. (Gen-9, OBC-17, ST-11) out of them PH-2 and Ex.S.-4nos.
3. Examiner: 8 Nos. (Gen-6, OBC-2) out of them Ex-S.-1nos.
4. Electrician: 5 Nos. (Gen-4, OBC-1)
5. Fitter Electronics: 7 Nos. (Gen-5, OBC-1, ST-1)
6. Mill Wright: 1 Nos. (General)
7. HTO: 7 Nos. (gen-5, OBC-1, SC-1) out of them Ex-S.- 1nos.
8. Electroplater: 1 Nos. (OBC)
Required Qualification: Trade Certificate course from National Council for Vocational Training or I.T.I. in any one of above trades may apply for the respective trade. In case of Examiner trade, the candidates of Machinist or Fitter may apply and for the trade of Fitter Electronics; Electronics mechanics candidates may apply as well as for the trade of H.T.O., the candidates with trade certificate of Heat Treatment may apply.
Candidates holding Diploma or Certificate in any one of the above trade were also eligible to apply for the respective trade.
Age limit: Candidates should be between 18yrs to 32yrs as on 9-3-2012. Age relaxation for OBC- 3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs, PH candidates- 10yrs and Ex-serviceman- as per norms.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay – Rs.1800
Candidates selection: Candidates will be selected through Written Test wihch will be of 100 marks of Objective Types question on basis of NCTVT syllabus. If qualified in written test then will be called for Trade Test. Candidates who have done Apprenticeship on respective trade will get first preference.

After filling the online application form candidates should make print-out copy of the system generated application form. This system generated application form should be sent to the office address of Avadi Engine Factory along with all the below mentioned documents—
- Attested copies of Age proof, Educational and Trade Certificate
- Attested copy of Caste Certificate, for SC/ST candidates
- Recent 3 Nos. passport size photograph (one copy pasted on application form and self-singed on it in such a way that it runs both on paper and photo, other two copies attached as enclosure after writing name and name of the post on the backside of it)
- Crossed Postal Order or Demand Draft of Rs.50 in favour of—“General Manager, Engine Factory Avadi”. SC/ST/PH and Ex-Serviceman do not requires fee.
On the top of the application containing envelope, write – Name of the post and Name of the Trade.
Last Date: Application form should reach within 9th March 2012 at the following address—
