ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2020
No. of Vacancies: 495 Nos.
Recruitment on the results of this examination will be made to the Services/ Posts under the following categories:â
i) Category I- Civil Engineering.
ii) Category II- Mechanical Engineering.
iii) Category III- Electrical Engineering.
iv) Category IV- Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
Educational Qualification:
i) A degree in Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution.
OR
ii) Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India).
OR
iii) Obtained a degree/ diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/ College/ Institution recognised by the Government.
OR
iv) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India).
OR
v) Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/ Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India.
OR
vi) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.
Provided that a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’ may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:
a) For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engg. Posts) – M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.
b) For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’- M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 30 years as on 01/01/2020.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
On the basis of the result of Engineering Services Examination, 2020 the candidates will be selected for various Group-A/ B Services/ Posts. For more details please see the Official Advt.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary (Stage-I) Examination, Main Examination (Stage-II) and Personality Test (Stage-III). The Preliminary Examination will be held on 5th January, 2020. The examination will be held at various centres across India.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Application Fee of Rs. 200/-. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). See released advertisement for more details.
NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF FEMALE/SC/ST/PWBD CANDIDATES.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) — www.upsc.gov.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 25/09/2019 to 15/10/2019.
Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
