NAME OF THE POSTS AND VACANCIES:
Total Vacancies: 290 Nos.
1. Scientist ‘B’: 276 posts (DRDO: 270 posts, DST: 06 posts)
2. Scientist/ Engineer ‘B’: 10 posts (ADA, Bengaluru)
3. Executive Engineer: 04 posts (GAETEC, Hyderabad)
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years (for DRDO & GAETEC)/ 30 years (for ADA)/ 35 years (for DST).
Remuneration: Rs.80,000/- per month.

1. ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
No. of Vacancies: 86 Nos. (DRDO-81, ADA-02, GAETEC-03)
Educational Qualification: i) At least First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
ii) Candidates must also fulfil one of the following additional requirements:
a) GATE Qualification: Valid GATE score in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
b) 80% aggregate marks in essential qualification degree, if done from an IIT or NIT. However, this option is not applicable for GAETEC posts.
2. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
No. of Vacancies: 67 Nos. (DRDO-63, DST-01, ADA-02, GAETEC-01)
Educational Qualification: i) At least First Class (condition of First Class does not apply to DST posts) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
ii) Candidates must also fulfil one of the following additional requirements:
a) GATE Qualification: Valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering.
b) 80% aggregate marks in essential qualification degree, if done from an IIT or NIT. However, this option is not applicable for GAETEC posts.
3. COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

Educational Qualification: i) At least First Class (condition of First Class does not apply to DST posts) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science & Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.

4. CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

The vacancies are in Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC). The candidates will be appointed on Direct Recruitment basis.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of valid GATE 2017/ 2018/ 2019 Score, Descriptive Examination and Personal Interview wherever applicable. The Descriptive Examination is likely to be held in October 2019. Tentatively, the Descriptive Examination will be conducted at DRDO centres in seven cities- Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Pune as well as at other common centres, if the need arises. The Personal Interview will be held at Delhi.
