Export Inspection Council of India, under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, is inviting application from the eligible and experienced candidates for 32 posts of – Assistant Director, Technical Officer, Jr. Scientific Assistant, Laboratory Asst., Office Asst., Accountant, Stenographer, Lab Attendant and Peon/MTS. The appointment will be made in Export Inspection Council and Export Inspection Agencies having Head Offices at Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai and Kolkata. Advertisement No.2014/01. Qualification norms and details in brief are given below —
1. Assistant Director (Tech.): 09 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—4; ST—2)
Qualification: Degree in Engineering /Technology or Post Graduate in Science or its equivalent and 05 years’ experience in inspection, and or testing in the fields of Chemistry, Food Science & Technology, Fisheries, Veterinary Science and Computers/IT.
Age: 25—35yrs.
2. Technical Officer: 4 Nos. (Gen—2; OBC—2)
Qualification: Degree in Engineering /Technology / Degree in Science (Preferably Honours/ Post Graduate) or equivalent with 03 years’ experience in inspection and/ or testing in the fields of Chemistry, Food Science & Technology, Fisheries, Veterinary Science and Computers / IT.
Age: 25—35yrs.
3. Jr. Scientific Assistant: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Degree in Engineering / Technology; Degree in Science (Preferably Honours/ Post Graduate) or Diploma in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent with experience in testing / inspection in the field of Chemistry or Microbiology.
Age: 20—30yrs.
4. Laboratory Assistant Grade-II: 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: High School or equivalent with Science subjects and 01 year experience in food testing.
Age: 18—25yrs.
5. Office Assistant: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Degree or equivalent with 02 years’ experience in Administration / Accounts work of a Govt. Department or a commercial organization of repute or technical establishment.
Age: 20—30yrs.
6. Accountant: 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: Degree preferably in Commerce or equivalent with 02 years’ experience in Accounts of a Government Department / commercial organization of repute / a technical establishment.
Age: 20—30yrs
7. Stenographer Grade-II: 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: High School or equivalent with Shorthand speed 100 wpm and Typing 40 wpm in Hindi or English. Should have 02 years’ experience as Stenographer / Steno-typist. Preference will be given to the candidates having proficiency in both.
Age: 18—25yrs.
8. Laboratory Attendant: 2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Pass in Middle School with 03 years’ experience in the Laboratory. Preference will be given to candidates who have passed 10th standard.
Age: 18—25yrs.
9. Peon/MTS: 1 Nos. (ST)
Qualification: Pass in Middle School with knowledge of reading English/Hindi. Preference will be given to candidates who have passes 10th standard.
Age: 18—25yrs.
Age Relaxation: The age limit mentioned above will be taken as on 29/04/2014.
The upper age limit, however, may be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC as per Govt. norms.
Selection of the candidates will be through Interview. Candidates will be shortlisted on basis of their performance in qualification and experience. Such shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview. Date and venue will be intimated in due course through call letters.
The appointment will be in Export Inspection Council and Export Inspection Agencies having Head Offices at Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai and Kolkata with a network of 29 Sub-Offices including laboratories
The selected candidate will be placed under probation for a period of two years which may be extended at the discretion of the appointing authority.

After successful submission of online application, candidates shall take a print-out of the system generated Application form. Candidates must send this print-out at the below address alongwith enclosures.
The print-out of system generated Application form shall be enclosed with a with self-attested copy of educational qualification, experience, Caste certificate, PWD certificate, etc.
Application Fee: A Demand Draft/ Pay Order of Rs.500/- is to be made as Application Fee in favour of ‘Export Inspection Council of India’ payable at Delhi. Enclose the DD/ Pay order with the system generated print-out of the application and send it at the below address.
SC/ST/PH/ Ex-Servicemen and all Women candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
