GENERAL DUTY MEDICAL OFFICER
No. of Vacancies: 1174 Nos. (UR-275, SC-195, ST-235, BC-A-160, BC-B-203, PWD-106)
Educational Qualification: i) Medical qualification and registration as Medical Practitioner in the Medical Council of India or any other State Medical Council provided that the candidates, if selected and appointed, must register their names in the West Bengal Medical Council within six (06) months of joining the West Bengal Health Service.
ii) The candidate should have the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates of the three Hills sub-division of Darjeeling District namely Darjeeling sadar, Kalingpong and Kurseong).
Age Limit: Maximum 36 years for ordinary Medical Graduates and 40 years for those possessing Post Graduate qualifications as on 01/01/2020.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.42000
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST candidates of West Bengal, 03 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal and upto 45 years of age for PWD category. Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
