WEST BENGAL PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (PSCWB) INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 09 GEOLOGIST AND MINING OFFICER. LAST DATE — 05/03/2020

 

1. GEOLOGIST

No. of Vacancies: 05 Nos. (UR-02, SC-01, ST-01, OBC-01)

Educational Qualification: A Second Class Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology of a recognized University/ Institute or equivalent qualifications.

Experience: Two years practical experience in prospecting various minerals.

Desirable: Experience in Mining and Drilling.

Age Limit: Maximum 36 years as on 01/01/2020.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.42000

 

2. MINING OFFICER

No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos. (UR-03, ST-01)

Educational Qualification: i) A Degree in Mining Engineering form a recognized University/ Institution or a Diploma in Mining Engineering form Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad or equivalent.
OR
ii) A Second Class Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or equivalent from a recognized University/ Institute.

Experience: Two years field experience, relaxable for otherwise well-qualified candidates.

Desirable: i) Second Class Mines Manager’s Certificate.
ii) Practical knowledge of Mine Surveying.

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 01/01/2020.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.42000

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and upto the age of 45 years for PWD category. Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

The vacancies are in West Bengal General Service under the Directorate of Mines and Minerals under Industry, Commerce and Enterprises Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The posts are Permanent in nature.

For the post of Mining Officer, the selected candidates, if necessary, will have to undergo in-service training for six (06) months in Mining.


Note:-
Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali is an essential requirement (not required for those whose mother tongue is Nepali).

Reserved Category candidates from the states other than West Bengal will be treated as General Category candidates.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Interview. Where the number of applications received is large, the Commission may restrict the number of candidates to be called for Interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualification/ higher marks/ grade obtained in the essential qualifications or experience in relevant field higher than the minimum prescribed or on the basis of a Preliminary Screening Test (PST).

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen.
