1. GEOLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 32 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Must hold at least 2nd class M.Sc in Geology or Applied Geology from any recognized University or Diploma in Applied Geology from Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad, degree, diploma or certificate of Indian Institute of Technology or from any other Institute where such degree, diploma or certificate is considered equivalent to Post-graduate degree in Geology.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/08/2019.
Scale of Pay: Rs.56100
2. PETROLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 03 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Must hold at least 2nd class M.Sc in Geology or Applied Geology from any recognized University or Diploma in Applied Geology from Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad, degree, diploma or certificate of Indian Institute of Technology or from any other Institute where such degree, diploma or certificate is considered equivalent to Post-graduate degree in Geology.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/08/2019.
Scale of Pay: Rs.56100
3. GEOPHYSICIST
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Must hold at least 2nd class Post-graduate degree in exploration or Applied Geophysics from any recognized University or the degree in Geology and Geophysics from the IIT or equivalent degree, diploma or certificate from any recognized Institution.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/08/2019.
Scale of Pay: Rs.56100
4. MINING OFFICER
No. of Vacancies: 05 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Must hold at least 2nd class Degree in Mining Engineering from any recognized University or Diploma in Mining or in Applied Geology from Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad or any other Institute where such diploma or certificaate is considered equivalent to the degree of Mining Engineering.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/08/2019.
Scale of Pay: Rs.56100
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ ST/ SEBC/ Women and 10 years for PWD category.
The vacancies are in Group- A of Odisha Mining and Geology Service under Steel and Mines Department.
The candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia fluently and must have passed at least an examination in Odia language equivalent to that of Middle English School Standard conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or the Education Department of the Government of Odisha or any other Board or Council of Secondary Education approved by the Government of Odisha in support of passing of Odia Language (M.E. School Standard).
The selected candidates will be on Probation for a period of two (02) years.
Reserved category candidates of states other than Odisha will be treated as General candidates.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination and Viva Voce Test. The Written Examination will be held at Cuttack.
