Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Geology/ M.Sc or M.Tech (Petroleum Geo-Science/ Petroleum Geology) with minimum 60% marks.
2. Geophysics (Surface): 30 Nos. (Gen—22; OBC—4; SC—2; ST—2)
Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Geophysics OR Physics with Electronics with minimum 60% marks.
3. Geophysics (Wells): 24 Nos. (Gen—16; OBC—7; SC—1)
Qualification: Same as above.
4. Reservoir: 47 Nos. (Gen—24; OBC—14; SC—8; ST—1)
Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Geology/ Chemistry/ Geophysics/ Mathematics/ Physcis, Petroleum Technology with min 60% marks OR Graduate in Chemical/ Pertroleum Engineering/ Applied Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
5. Chemistry: 60 Nos. (Gen—34; OBC—17; SC—7; ST—2)
Qualification: Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering with min 60% marks OR Post Graduate degree in Chemistry with minimum 60% marks.

Qualification: Engineering Graduate in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Petroleum/ Applied Petroleum/ Auto/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Civil/ Electronics/ Telecom/ E&T/ Computer Engg with min 60% marks OR MBA with specialization in Materials Management/ Inventory Control with min 60% marks OR Graduate degree with PG Diploma in Material Management awarded by Indian Institute of Materials Management recognised for the purpose of recruitment to superior posts in the Central Govt. with min 60% marks
19. Medical: 7 Nos. (Gen—4; OBC—1; SC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: MBBS with Valid Registration
20. Security: 9 Nos. (Gen—5; OBC—2; ST—2)
Qualification: Post Graduate degree with 2yrs service with Armed Force or CPO with following physical standards—Height:168cms; Chest: 81cms with ability expand by 5cms.
Age limits: for all posts except Drilling and Cementing— within 30yrs as on 26/08/2012. For the posts of Drilling and Cementing—within 28yrs as on 26/08/2012. Upper age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs, PWD—10yrs and Others—as per norms.
Selection of candidates will be through Written Test which will be of Objective Type. Qualified candidates will be then called for Psychometric test and Interview.
The written test will be tentatively on 07/10/2012. Exact date and venue will be published on official website of ONGC in due course. Refer Advt. for information.
Examination will be conduct at the following cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ranchi. Candidates may choose any one centre while applying online.
How to Apply: Apply Online from the official site of ONGC — http://www.ongcindia.com. Candidates will be required to upload their own scan passport size photograph and signature. They will have to provide fee details, therefore candidates should deposit the fee before applying as well should mention valid email id because all future correspondence will be made through email only.
After submitting the online application, candidates should print-out the system generated application for future use. Do not send any documents/ application by post.
Application fee: Rs.500 (Rs.100 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) is to be deposited by Fee Payment Challan through any branch of State Bank of India. Fee payment challan is to be print-out from the site of ONGC.
