Pay Scale (for all the above posts): Rs.5200-20200 per month Grade Pay: Rs.1800

Qualification: Madhyamik Pass (Matriculation) candidates can apply for all the above posts. Candidates with higher qualification and candidates with I.T.I. in any trade can also apply.

Age Limit (for all the above posts): 18yrs to 33yrs as o 1.1.2011 (Relaxable age for OBC: 3yrs; SC/ST: 5yrs; Widow or legally divorce women (not- remarried): 2yrs, (if from sc/st- 5yrs, obc- 3yrs); Temporary basis serviceman in Rail: As per govt. norms)

Selection Procedure: Physical test will be taken which will be of (i) Race of 1500 meters within 6 minutes (in case of Male); Race of 400 Meters within 3 minutes- incase of Female.
After verification of Certificate and selected candidates from Physical Test, a Written Test will be held. Test will be of Objective Multiple Choice from Madhyamik Level on following topics: (i) General Knowledge/ Awareness, (ii) Mathematics and (iii) Reasoning. Time of 2 hrs will be given to complete the papers. There will be negative markings on basis of 3 wrong answers 1 marks will be deducted. Question paper will be set in Bengali, Hindi, English and Urdu.

On basis or mark obtaining in written test; a shortlist candidates name will be prepared and will call for Medical Fitness Test which will be carried by doctors. There will be no Interview.

Along with application form enclosed the following particulars

• Attested copies of Educational certificate
• Attested copies of Admit card of Madhyamik Pass (Matriculation) for age proof
• Attested copies Caste certificate in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates
• Attested copies of Handicap Certificate issued by doctors in case of PH candidates 
• OBC candidates should fill the Declaration form given along with application form.
• If any certificate is in other language except English or Hindi then it should be translated in Hindi or English on plain paper and attested copies of Original should be enclosed.
• Recent passport size 2 nos. photograph (4.5 X 3.5 cm). on the back side of photo write your name, father/husband name.
• Eye examination certificate (Only for candidates applying for post of ‘Porter Transportation- (Post Code:01)’)
• Crossed Postal order, Crossed Demand Draft or Pay Order of Rs. 40. In favor of “Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Railway Recruitment Cell, Eastern Railway. Write payable at: Kolkata. On the back side of it write your name and address. No fee for candidate from SC/ST, OBC and others Economical Backward Class (those whose family annual income is less than Rs. 50000). An income certificate has to be enclosed with Annexure- VII for Economical Backward Class candidates.

Attested of all above documents should be done from Gazetted Officers only

Last Date of Application: Your filled application should reach within 25th February 2011, for candidates residing in Andaman and Nicobar Island; application should reach within 10 March 2011.
