Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), under Ministry of Home Affairs is recruiting 326 candidates for the post of Head Constable (Telecom) and Asst. Sub Inspector (Telecom) And 824 candidates for the post of Constable (Driver). Matriculation candidates may apply for the post. Application form should be prepared on plain paper by neatly typing as per prescribed format. Qualification and other eligibility criteria is given below—
1. Head Constable (Telecom): 76 Nos. (Gen—48; SC—7; ST—4; OBC—10; Ex-Serviceman—7)
Qualification: Matric with Diploma in Electronics or Telecommunication
OR Higher Secondary (Class 10+2) with aggregate marks of 50% with selective subjects—Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Age: 18yrs to 25yrs as on 31/7/2012
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and G.P—Rs.2800
2. Head Constable (Telecom): 250 Nos. (Gen-99; SC-66; ST-27; OBC-33; Ex-serviceman-25)
Qualification: Madhyamik / equivalent with 2yrs of ITI certificate in Electronics OR 10+2 with subjects—Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Age: 18yrs to 23yrs as on 31/7/2012.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and G.P—Rs.2400
3. Constable (Driver): 824 Nos. (Gen—311; SC—241; ST—72; OBC—118, Ex-Serviceman—82)
Qualification: Madhyamik or equivalent and must have valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
Age: 18yrs to 28yrs as on 1/8/2012.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and G.P—2000
Physical Standards (For all posts):—
Height: 170 cms (162.5 for ST candidates)
Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 80cms/ 85cms (76cms/ 81cms for ST)
Weight: Corresponding to height and age as per Medical Standard.
Eye sight: 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without glasses.
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit and should have no any body defects which may hinder in performance of duty.
Age relaxation: For OBC—3yrs; SC/ST-5yrs and Others—as per norms.
Candidates’ Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected through – Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test, Driving Test (for HC- Driver) and Medical Examination.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :—
For the post of HC and Asst. Sub Inspector (Telecom): (i) 100 mtr race within 16 seconds, (ii) Long Jump of 11ft in 3 chances and (iii) High Jump of 3.6ft in 3 chances and (iv) Race of 800 mtrs within 4 minutes.
For the post of Constable (Driver) — (i) Race of 1 Mile within 6.5 minutes, (ii) Long Jump of 11ft in 3 chances and (iii) High Jump of 3.6ft in 3 chances.
Qualified candidates from PET will be eligible to sit for Written Examination.
Written Examination—
For Constable (Driver): General Knowledge and General Hindi/English. The qualified candidates will be called for Driving Test.
For the post of HC and Asst. Sub Inspector (Telecom): General Hindi/ English, General Knowledge and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Basic Electronics.
The exact time and date of recruitment steps will be intimated to the eligible candidates through Admit/ Call letters.
Application Fee (For all posts): Rs.50 in form of Bank Draft or IPO. No fee required for SC/ST and Ex-Serviceman.
Draft or IPO should be in favour of — for ASI and HC – Telecom: “Accounts Officer, SSB, FTR HQ, Ranikhet,” and payable at—Ranikhet- Branch code-0704” and in case of IPO—“ Accounts Officer, SSB, FTR HQ, Ranikhet”
For Constable (Driver)— “Accounts Officer, FTR Hqrs. SSB Guwahati” payable at SBI Guwahati, Assam” in case of IPO— “ Officer, FTR Hqrs. SSB Guwahati, Assam”.
How to Apply: Application form is to be prepared on plain paper as per format.
Application form should be enclosed with all necessary documents in support of eligibility such as – Qualification certificate, age proof, Caste, ITI/ Driving licence as applicable and etc.
Enclose 3 copies of passport size photographs duly attested by gazetted officer and 2 Nos. self-address envelopes (4X9) with postal stamp of Rs.25 on each
