Govt. of Andhra Pradesh – Hyderabad City Police, Home Guards Organization, is in inviting eligible male and female candidates for enrollment to the post of Home Guards. Total vacancies – 457 Nos. Interested candidates may submit their Application form on prescribed format. Qualification norms and eligibility criteria is given below in brief. HOME GUARDS
Total vacancies: 457 Nos.
The post of Home Guard is further breaks up into different Categories and trades. Break up of vacancies are as follows—
1. Home Guard – General : 200 Nos.
2. Home Guard – Technical: 184 Nos.
3. Home Guard – General (Deputation): 58 Nos.
4. Home Guard – Technical (Deputation): 15 Nos.

Educational Qualification:—
For Home Guard – General, candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent.
For Home Guard – Technical, candidates must have passed 7th or equivalent examination.
Technical qualification: Skilled and technical persons will be recruited as Home Guards—Technical. Candidates should possess the valid ITI certificate in the concerned specialization issued by the Govt. of AP. (Refer the Advt. link given below for details)
Candidates with higher qualification may also apply. Female candidates are eligible to apply only for the post of Home Guard—General whereas Male candidates may apply for both General and Technical.
Applicants must be a local to the Hyderabad City Police Unit Area.
Age Limits: above 18yrs as on 24.05.2013.
Physical Standards of the Candidates:—
Home Guard General (Men): Hieght—165cms (160cms in case of ST candidate)
Home Guard Technical (Men): Height—160 cms
Home Guard General (Women): Height—150cms (145cms in case of ST candidate)
How to Apply: Eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format which can be downloaded from the official website of AP Police and Hyderabad Police only — www.appolice.gov.in and www.hyderabadpolice.gov.in
Application fee: Rs.25/- in cash is to be paid at the time of submission of Application form. SC/ST candidates are exempted from Application fee.
Selection of the candidates will be through Physical Efficiency Test which includes – Running, Long Jump and Shotput.
Qualified candidates from the PET will finally go for Medical Fitness Examination. (Refer the Advt. link given below for details).
Last Date of Application: The Application form along with attested copies of testimonials in support of eligibility, qualification, caste, age and etc should be submitted in person on any working day between 29.04.2013 to 15.05.2013 in between 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at Goshamahal Stadium, Hyderabad.
No Application form will be accepted by Post. The applicant should submit it in person.
