Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), as per Advt.No. 48/2012, is recruiting 158 persons for the post of “Junior Assistant-cum-Typist” and “Stenographer” exclusively reserved for SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates. Candidates may submit Application form either Online or Offline. There are more vacant posts, out of which only 2 posts were detailed below—
1. Stenographer

Vacancies: 57 Nos. (SC-16; ST-09; OBC-30) out of them PWD—2nos.
Qualification: Higher Secondary pass (Class-XII). Ability to type 40 words per minute in English or 35 words per minute in Hindi on Computers and 80 words per minute in Shorthand.
Candidates with Bachelor degree and knowledge of computer is desirable.
Age: Maximum 30 yrs.
2. Junior Assistant-cum-Typist

Vacancies: 101 Nos. (SC-22, ST-15, OBC-58) out of them PWD- 6nos.
Qualification: Higher Secondary (Class-XII) pass and ability to type 40 words per minute in English or 35 words per minute in Hindi on Computers.
Candidates with Bachelor degree is desirable.
Age: maximum 27yrs
Age relaxation: Age will be counted as on 30/4/2012. OBC- 3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs, PWD-10yrs, Ex-serviceman and others—as per norms.
Selection of candidates: Candidates will be selected through Written Test and Skill Test. Qualified candidates on Written test will be only called for Skill Test. Date of Written Examination, call letters will be available on later at the website of IGNOU.
How to Apply: Application can be made either Online or Offline. Visit official site of IGNOU for details— http://www.ignou.ac.in
Online Application: to submit online application form, visit the official site of IGNOU, (mentioned above) and click the link—Special Recruitment Drive. Online application form will appear on the screen, fill it properly and click the submission button. After submission of form, system generated Application form with Unique Control No. will appear on the screen. Candidates are advised to make print-out copy of this system generated form. Now paste recent color passport size photograph on the space provided and signature as well put thumb impression on the space provided. Do not make any correction, otherwise it will lead to cancellation. Now sent this print-out application along with Demand draft of Rs. 200 (Rs.100 for SC/ST), educational certificates and other documents by Ordinary post only to the office address of IGNOU.
Offline Application: Candidates willing to submit offline application should download the Application format available on the website of IGNOU and sent it by ordinary post along with DD and other required documents.
Application Processing Fee: Candidates should pay Application processing fee of Rs.200 (for OBC) or Rs.100 (For SC/ST, Female candidates and PWD candidates with minimum 40% of disability are exempted from payment of fee). Application fee can be only paid in form of Demand Draft in favour of – IGNOU, and payable— New Delhi. On the back of D.D. write your Name, Date of birth and Post applied for in capital letters.
Print-out application form (for online method) or downloaded application (for offline method) should be enclosed with D.D, Attested copies of Qualification certificate, Age proof certificate, Caste Certificate, Trade/Skill/ Experience Certificate other documents, if any.
On the top of the envelope, superscribed— “Application for the post of_____, Category & Gender____”. Do not sent application by Registered/ Speed post/ Courier or any other service. It should reach only through Ordinary post.
Last date and Address: Online Application can be submitted within 20th April 2012 and Computer generated print-out Application or Offline Application should reach by post within 30th April 2012 at the following address— “Assistant Registrar (Recruitment), Block-7, Room No.13, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068”.
