Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)— IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur (West Bengal), is recruiting 473 Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee/ Boiler Operation) and Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee/ Boiler Operation) for its integrated steel plant at Burnpur. 1. Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation)
Number of Vacancies: 9 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—3; ST—1; OBC—2).  One reserved for PWD.

2. Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation)
Number of Vacancies: 5 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—2; OBC—1)

3. Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)
Number of Vacancies: 290 Nos. (Gen—95; SC—138; ST—9; OBC—48). Includes 8 PWD and 29 Ex-Servicemen.

Educational Qualification:
1. Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): Matriculation and 3 years full time Diploma in engineering with 2nd Class or 1st Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.
2. Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): Matriculation and ITI with at least 2nd Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.
3. Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): Matriculation with 3 years full time Diploma in engineering in Automobile/Ceramics/Chemical/Civil/Electrical/Electronics or Electronics & Communication/ Instrumentation/ Mechanical/ Metallurgy/Production discipline.
4. Attendant-cum-Technician(Trainee): Matriculation and ITI (full time) in Air-conditioning & Refrigeration/Draughtsman (Civil)/Draughtsman(Mech)/Electrician/Electronics Mechanic/Fitter/ Machinist/Mechanic MotorVehicle/Mechanic Diesel/ Turner/ Welder trades.
5. Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)- Dumper Operator: Matriculation with Heavy Duty Vehicle Driving Licence and having at least one year experience in operation of Dumpers.

Age Limit (As on 01/06/2014):
Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 30yrs.
Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): Minimum 18yrs and maximum 28yrs
Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): Minimum 18yrs and maximum 30yrs
Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): Minimum 18yrs and maximum 28yrs.
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PWD- Un-reserved (UR), 13 years for PWD-OBC(Non-Creamy Layer) and 15 years for PWD-SC/ST candidates.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection will be through Written Examination and Interview. On the basis of Written Examination, qualified candidates will be called for Interview.
For the post of Dumper Operator (ACT _ Trainee), there will be Practical Test beside Written Examination and Interview.

After applying online, the candidate is required to download / print-out the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details. DO NOT SEND THE PRINT-OUT OR ANY DOCUMENTS TO SAIL AT THIS STAGE. 

Application Fee: Candidates will require to pay Application Fee plus Processing fee of Rs.250 for the posts Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) and Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Rs. 150 for the posts of Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) and Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee).
SC/ST CANDIDATES SHALL PAY RS.50/- ONLY AS PROCESSING FEE. 
Fee is to be paid by means of Pay-In-Slip through any branches of State Bank of India (SBI). The Pay in Slip (SBI Challan) is to be downloaded from the SAIL’s website after filling in the required details.
