INDIAN AIR FORCE INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR POSTS OF AIRMAN IN GROUP ‘X’ (TECHNICAL), GROUP  ‘Y’ (NON-TECHNICAL) AND GROUPS ‘X&Y’. LAST DATE — 29/09/2016

 

1. Airman Group ‘X’ (Technical)
Educational Qualification: (i) Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English OR (ii) Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream with 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

Name of the Stream are as follows—
(i) Mechanical Stream — Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Design & Drafting), Mechanical Engineering (Foundry Technology), Mechanical Engineering (Machine Tool Maintenance and repairs), Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning), Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die), Mechanical Engineering (Production), Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication Tech), Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM Design & Robotics), Mechanical (Advance Manufacturing Technology), Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechatronics.
(ii) Electronics/IT Stream — Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics (Microprocessor), Electronics and Avionics, Electronics (Fibre Optics), Electronics (Robotics), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering/ Technology, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering/Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Technology.
Age Limit: Born between -07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive)
Stipend: Rs. 11,400/- per month during training period.

 

2. Airman Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician}
Educational Qualification: Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Age Limit: Born between -07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive)
Stipend: Rs. 11,400/- per month during training period.

 

3. Airman Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade
Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2/ Intermediate / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Age Limit: Born between -07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive)
Stipend: Rs. 11,400/- per month during training period.

 

4. Airman Groups ‘X&Y’ (Eligible for both Technical and Non-Technical)
Educational Qualification: Passed Intermediate/10+2 / Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Candidates will take the examination for Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ subjects in one sitting and can qualify for Group ‘X’ or Group ‘Y’ or both i.e. if candidate passes in English, Physics and Mathematics, he is considered pass in Group ‘X’ and if he passes in English and Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA) then he will be considered pass in Group ‘Y’. If a candidate clears in all the four subjects, he will be considered pass in Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’. Diploma holders are eligible to appear only for Group ‘X’.
Age Limit: Born between -07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive)
Stipend: Rs. 11,400/- per month during training period.

 

NOTE: Only unmarried Male candidates who meets the above qualification norms may apply.

 

Physical Measurement (For all above Groups):

i) Height: Minimum 152.5cm
ii) Chest: Ability to expand by 5cms
iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age. However, minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only

Candidates should be physically and mentally fit.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be though Written Test and Medical Exam. Test will be conducted in January – February 2017

Examination will be held at Ambala, New Delhi, Kanpur, Barrackpore Kolkata), Jodhpur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Tambaram (Chennai), Bhubaneswar, Bihta (Patna), Guwahati, Secunderabad, Kochi and Bhopal.

Exact Date, Time and Venue for examination/interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course as well as such information will be also available in the official website of Indian Air Force.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Indian Air Force — www.airmenselection.gov.in. (See link to Application form given below) from dated 15/09/2016 to 29/09/2016

Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it in two copies on plain A4 size paper. One copy of the print-out must be retained by the candidate for future references and other copy, along with attested copies of testimonials (qualification certificate/mark sheet, age proof, caste certificate, experience certificate if applicable and etc), is to be send at the below given address so as to reach on or before 13/10/2016.

Candidate should also enclose a passport size photograph showing a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters (See PDF given below for more details)
