AIRMAN (GROUP ‘X’ TECHNICAL TRADES)
Educational Qualification: Intermediate/ 10+2 / or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English
OR
3yrs Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) with 50% marks in overall aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.
Age Limit: Candidates should be born between 01 FEBRUARY 1994 to 30 NOVEMBER 1997 (both days inclusive).
Medical Standards: — (i) Height: Minimum is 152.5 cms. (ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm (iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age. (iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable. (v) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (vi) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vii) Health: Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments.
Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain. For details, see the below given PDF file.
Physical Fitness Test will be hold and will be as follows — (i) 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes.
Pay: During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Dearness Allowance (DA), will be Rs.23,655/-per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs.41,743/- per month (approximately) depending upon the rank attained.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Physical Fitness Test, Interview and Medical Examination.
Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed. Interview is normally conducted in English. Working knowledge of English is essential. Finally candidates will go for Medical Examination which will be as per Indian Air Force Medical Standards.
Examination centre will be at — Ambala, New Delhi, Kanpur, Barrackpore, Jodhpur, Tambaram (Chennai), Bihta (Patna), Guwahati, Secunderabad, Kochi and Bhopal.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates shall apply on prescribed format (see PDF file given below), which can be neatly typed on plain A4 size paper, alongwith attested copies of Matriculation certificate & Mark sheet, Age proof, Diploma certificate (as applicable), 03 copies of passport size photographs (un-attested) and any other relevant certificates.
The photograph of the candidates shall be with holding of a Black State in front of chest with his name, date of birth and date of photograph clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
