Indian Coast Guard — Headquarters, Coast Guard Region (East), Chennai and Coast Guard District HeadQuarters No.6, Visakhapatnam, is recruiting 83 candidates for different posts and for Multi-Tasking staffs. RECRUITMENT FOR CIVILIAN VACANCIES IN COAST GUARD REGION (EAST), CHENNAI.
1. Charge Man Grade-II: 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical or Marine or Electronics Engineering AND one year of experience in respective trade.
2. Storekeeper: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Degree and 3yrs experience in handling stores and keeping accounts.
3. Assistant Storekeeper: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; SC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent.
4. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade): 3 Nos. (Gen—2; ST—1)
Qualification: Class 10 Pass. Must have heavy and light vehicle driving licence and two years experience in driving.
5. Engine Driver: 1 Nos. (ST)
Qualification: matriculation and certificate of competency as Engine Driver.
6. Sarang Lascar: 4 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation and certificate of competency as Sarang.
7. Fireman: 2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation with physical standard norms — Height: 165cms; Chest (Unexpanded/ Expanded) : 81.5/ 85cms and Weight: minimum 50 Kgs. (Relaxation is as per norms.)
8. ICE Fitter (Skilled): 5 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: Completed Apprenticeship OR ITI with 1yrs of experience in the trade OR Candidates with 4yrs of experience in the trade (if without any training) may apply.
9. Electrical Fitter (Skilled): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Same as above post.
10. Machinist (Skilled): 2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: same as above.
11. Carpenter (Skilled): 1 Nos (Gen)
Qualification: Same as above.
12. Painter (Skilled): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: same as above.
13. Multi-Tasking Staff – Gestetner Operator: 1 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation and 2yrs experience as Office attendant
14. Multi-Tasking Staff – Daftry: 1 Nos. (gen)
Qualification: Matriculation and 2yrs experience as Office Attendant
15. Multi-Tasking Staff – Peon: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation and 2yrs experience as Office attendant
16. Multi-Tasking Staff – Sweeper: 2 Nos. (gen)
Qualification: : Matriculation and 2yrs experience in the field.
17. Multi-Tasking Staff – Mali: 3 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation and 2yrs experience as Mali
18. Multi-Tasking Staff (MT Cleaner): 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation and 2yrs experience in Mechanical workshop
19. Multi-Tasking Staff – Unskilled Labourer: 10 Nos. (Gen—8; OBC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: Matriculation or ITI and 3yrs experience in the trade.
20: Multi-Tasking Staff – Unskilled tradesman: 5 Nos. (gen—4; OBC—1)
Qualification: : Matriculation or ITI and 3yrs experience in the trade.
21. Multi-Tasking Staff – Lascar: 15 Nos. (Gen—9; OBC—4; SC—2)
Qualification: : Matriculation and 3yrs experience in service of Boat.
22. Multi-Tasking Staff – electrical Fitter (Semi-skilled): 2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: matriculation or ITI and 3yrs experience in the trade.
23. Multi-Tasking Staff – ICE Fitter (semi-skilled): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: matriculation or ITI and 3yrs of experience in the trade.
24. Multi-Tasking Staff – ship fitter (semi-skilled): 1 Nos. (gen)
Qualification: same as above.
25. Multi-Tasking Staff Metal Worker (semi-skilled): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation or ITI and 3yrs of experience in the trade.
26. Multi-Tasking Staff – Carpenter (semi-skilled): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: same as above,
27. Multi-Tasking Staff – Welder (semi-skilled): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: same as above.

Age Limits: Between 18yrs to 27yrs for all posts except for M.T.S Lascar/ Sarang Lascar/ Engine Driver – between 18yrs to 30yrs, as on 15th March 2013. Upper age relaxation is as per norms.
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Trade test (as per applicable), please refer the officially released advertisement (link given below).
