Indian Coast Guard, under Ministry of Defence, is inviting application from unmarried Male Candidates for recruitment to the post of “Navik (General Duty)”. 10+2 candidates who meets the below prescribed qualification criteria may apply. INDIAN COAST GUARD INVITES APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ‘NAVIK (GENERAL DUTY)’ FROM UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES. LAST DT. 29/01/2014.
Name of the Post: Navik (General Duty)
Qualification: 10+2 with 60% marks in aggregate in total and minimum 60% marks in each subject of Maths and Physics. (Minimum 55% in aggregate marks in case of SC/ST/Sportsperson and wards of Coast Guard)
Age Limits: Candidates must be born between 01-Aug 1992 to 31 July 1996. Upper age relaxation is 5yrs for SC/ST and 3yrs for OBC candidates.
Pay scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade pay: Rs.2000 plus other allowances.
Physical Standard:—
Height: 157 cms (Cut off in height for hilly areas and tribal candidates is as per Govt. norms)
Chest: Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion ability – by 5 cms.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Hearing: Normal
Eye Sight: 6/6 (Better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye). Candidates wearing glasses are not eligible.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Physical Fitness Test and then finally Medical examination. The conduct of test is planned during Mar/Apr 2014. Date, time and venue of the recruitment will be intimated through personal email ID/ by post in the month of Feb 14.
Written Test will be of Objective types (for details, refer the Advt.)
Physical Fitness Test will consist the following: —
- 1.6 Km run to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
- 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
- 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

After final submission of online application form; system generated form with unique Registration Number will appear on the screen. Candidates should print-out it in two copies and retain safely for future use.
All original certificates, mark sheets and print-out of System Generated slip are to be produced for verification at the time of written test.
Candidates should bring one copy of system generated print-out enclosed with attested copies of testimonials during selection steps at recruitment centre.
