SAILORS
Educational Qualification:
i) Direct Entry Petty Officer and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR):- 10+2 qualified in any stream or Equivalent examination.
ii) Matric Recruits (MR):- 10th/ equivalent qualified.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years and maximum 21 years (22 years for Direct Entry Petty Officer).
Pay Scale: Rs.21700 — Rs.43100
Sports Proficiency:- Outstanding sportsmen who have participated at International/ Junior or Senior National Championship/ Senior State Championship/ All India Inter University Championship in Athletics, Aquatics, Basket-ball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Squash, Fencing, Golf, Tennis, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing, Shooting, Sailing and Wind Surfing. Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply.
The vacancies are against Sports Quota Entry- 01/ 2020 Batch.
The initial training for the course will be conducted at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid to the candidates.
Physical Standards :
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 157 cms; Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. For more details, please see the Official Advt.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Trials at designated Naval Centers and Medical Examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai.
