Under Ministry of Defence- Indian Ordnance Factory, Kalpi Road, Kanpur is recruiting 185 persons in Group-C posts (Industrial Establishment/ Non Industrial Establishment) of Store Keeper, Durwan, Fireman and as a Semi skilled in the following trades—Machinist, Fitter General, Turner, Grinder, Millwright, Welder, Electrician, Fitter, Electronics and Fitter Auto. Industrial Establishment Posts:-
Name of Trades and No. of Semi-skilled persons trade wise—
1. Machinist: 61 Nos. (Gen-31, OBC-16, SC-14) out of the PH- 4nos.
2. Fitter General: 12 Nos. (Gen-6, OBC-2, SC-3, ST-1) out of them PH-1nos.
3. Turner: 21 Nos. (Gen-11, OBC-5, SC-4, ST-1). Out of them PH-3nos.
4. Grinder: 3 Nos. (Gen)
5. Millwright: 12 Nos. (Gen-5, OBC-5, SC-2)
6. Welder: 3 Nos. (Gen-1, SC-1, ST-1)
7. Electrician: 5 Nos. (Gen-2, OBC-2, SC-1)
8. Fitter Electronics: 8 Nos. (Gen-3, OBC-3, SC-2)
9. Fitter Auto: 3 Nos. (Gen-1, SC-1, OBC-1)
From the total No. of semi-skilled posts; 13 posts are reserved for Ex-Serviceman
Qualification: Matriculation pass candidates with Trade Certificate in relevant trade from NCTVT or I.T.I or equivalent Diploma or Certificate.
Age limit: between 18yrs to 32yrs as on 1/1/2012.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay—Rs.1800
Candidates with Degree and Diploma in Engineering were not eligible to apply for the post of Semi-skilled in above mentioned trades.
Non- Industrial Establishment Posts:-
10. Store keeper: 23 Nos. (Gen-11, OBC-6, SC-6). Out of the PH- 2nos.
Qualification: Higher Secondary (Class-12) pass. Basic knowledge of Computer Application – “O” level Certificate as per DOEACC
Age: between 18yrs to 27yrs as on 1/1/2012
11. Durwan: 25 Nos. (gen-13, OBC-6, SC-5, ST-1). Out of them PH- 1nos.
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and should be physically well built. Height—165cms, Chest (unexpanded/expanded)—77cms/ 82cms, Weight—minimum 45 kgs.
Ex-Serviceman or persons with 3yrs of service as home guard is desirable.
Age: between 20yrs to 27yrs as on 1/1/2012
12. Fireman: 9 Nos. (Gen-5, OBC-2, SC-2)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and must have done basic course of minimum 6 months on elementary fire fighting from Institute recognised by State Govt./ Govt. of India.
Height—165cms, Chest (unexpanded/expanded)—81.5cms/ 85 cms and Weight—minimum 50 kgs. Endurance Test will be taken for this posts—(i) Carrying a laden weight of 63.5 kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds. (ii) Long jump of 2.7 mtrs and (iii) Climbing of 3mtrs vertical rope. Cut-off in height and chest for SC/ST candidates will be as per norms.
Age: between 18yrs to 25yrs as on 1/1/2012.
From the total posts in Non- Industrial Establishment; 6 posts is reserved for Ex-Serviceman.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay of Rs.1900 (Rs.1800 for Durwan)
Age relaxation— Relaxation of Age is as per norms— OBC-3yrs, SC/ST- 5yrs, PH- 10yrs and Ex-
Serviceman- as per norms.
Candidates will be selected through Written Test, Trade Test/ Physical Test (as per requirement of the posts. At final stages, candidates will have to go through medical examination.

SC/ST/PH and Ex-Serviceman do not need to pay Application fee.
Now visit the official website as mentioned above and submit the Application form after entering each detail carefully. Now right after submitting the form; make a print-out copy of the submitted application. This print-out application should be sent to the office address along with attested copies of documents and DD/ IPO of Rs.50/-
N.B: On the top of the Application containing envelope, superscribe in bold, for example— “FOR THE POST OF MACHINIST (SEMI-SKILLED)”. Do not send more than one application.
Print-out application should be enclosed with the following attested copies of documents (Attestation should be done by Gazetted Officer)—
- Birth certificate/ Age proof certificate (Madhyamik certificate can be given for verification)
- Qualification Certificate and Marksheets
- Trade/ Technical/ Course Certificate
