Indian Railways requires 659 Constable in different trades in Railway Protection Force (RPF). Last Dt. 20/01/2014 (27.01.2014)

Indian Railways is inviting application from the eligible male and female candidates for 659 vacancies to the post of “Constable” in the trades of – Water Carrier, Safaiwala, Washerman, Barber, Mali, Tailor and Cobbler in Railway Protection Force including Railway Protection Special Force. Interested candidates may apply on prescribed application format. Employment Notice Number 01/2013. Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —

Number of Vacancies: 659 Nos.

Vacancies are in – 
1. North Western Railway, Jaipur (Rajasthan)
2. Northeast East Frontier Railway, Guwahati (Assam)
3. Western Railway, Mumbai
4. Southern Railway, Chennai

Break up of vacancies as per Trade wise —
1. Constable (Water Carrier): 406 Nos. (Gen—205; SC—67; ST—35; OBC—99)
2. Constable (Safaiwala): 117 Nos. (Gen—60; SC—6; ST—8; OBC—43)
3. Constable (Washerman): 53 Nos. (Gen—32; SC—3; ST—4; OBC—14)
4. Constable (Barber): 61 Nos. (Gen—36; SC—9; ST—4; OBC—12)
5. Constable (Mali): 7 Nos. (Gen—4; SC—00; ST—1; OBC—2)
6. Constable (Tailor): 9 Nos. (Gen—6; SC—1; ST—0; OBC—2)
7. Constable (Cobbler): 6 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; ST—0; OBC—2)

Educational Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent OR ITI

Age Limit: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 25yrs as on 01-01-2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 with Grade Pay: Rs.2000/- plus other allowances as per norms.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Measurement Test and Trade Test. Finally there will be documents verification and Medical Examination.
Written examination will be on OMR based Answer sheets which will comprise of 120 multipule choice objective type questions of one mark each.
The question paper will be of matriculation standard on following subject — i) General Intelligence & Reasoning, ii) Arithmetic and iii) General Awareness.

Exact date, time and venue will be intimated to the eligible candidates through Call letters.

Physical Efficiency Test will be as follows:—
For Male candidates:
i)  Run of 1600 mtrs in 5 minutes and 45 seconds in one chance
ii) Long jump of 14 feet in two chances 
iii) High jump of 3ft 9inches in two chances. 
For Female candidates:
i) Run of 800 mtrs in 3 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance
ii) Long jump of 9 feet in two chances.
iii) High jump of 3ft in two chances.

Examination Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Application Fee of Rs.40/- in form of a crossed Indian Postal Order or crossed Bank draft. The IPO/DD shall be in favour of  respective Nodal Chief Security Commissioner. (See the PDF file below for list of addresses)

NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST/ MINORITIES, WOMEN CANDIDATES AND ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD CLASSES AS WELL AS EX-SERVICEMAN.

Candidates must enclose all the essential documents in attested copies such as, Qualification certificate, Age proof, Caste certificate and Etc. Testimonials should be in Self-Attested copies.
Candidates must also enclose three self addressed envelope (28 x 12 cms) each bearing postal stamp of Rs.5/- duly affixed.
Candidates must send their application through ORDINARY POST only
 
Superscribe the top of the envelope with – “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ANCILLARY IN RPF INCLUDING RPSF”.
