Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) – Recruitment of 496 Constable (Tradesman) in various trades. Last Dt. 15/05/2014 (22/5/14)

Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), under Ministry of Home Affairs, is recruiting 496 Constable (Tradesman) on temporary basis but likely to be permanent. Trades— Tailor, Cobbler, Safai Karmachari, Washerman, Gardener, Water Carrier, Cook and Barber. The vacancies are in Group-C combatised (Non-Ministerial). Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format. Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

CONSTABLE (TRADESMAN) —
— Constable (Tailor): 32 Nos. (Gen—16; SC—5; ST—2; OBC—9)
— Constable (Gardener): 9 Nos. (Gen—6; SC—1; OBC—2)
— Constable (Cobbler): 23 Nos. (Gen—12; SC—3; ST—2; OBC—6)
— Constable (Water Carrier): 123 Nos. (Gen—63; SC—18; ST—9; OBC—33)
— Constable (Safai Karmachari): 99 Nos (Gen—50; SC—15; ST—7; OBC—27)
— Constable (Cook): 115 Nos. (Gen—58; SC—17; ST—9; OBC—31)
— Constable (Washerman): 48 Nos. (Gen—24; SC—7; ST—4; OBC—13)
— Constable (Barber): 47 Nos. (Gen—24; SC—7; ST—4; OBC—12)
N.B: For CT (Tailor), both Male and Female candidates may apply whereas for rest of Trades, only Male candidates are eligible to apply. 10% of vacancies in each category are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Educational Qualification & Age limit:
For Tailor, Gardener & Cobbler only: Class 10 pass and 02 yrs work experience in respective trade OR 01 year certificate from ITI/ Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in respective trade OR 02yrs Diploma from ITI in the trade.  AGE: 18yrs to 23yrs.
For Water Carrier, Safaikarmachari, Cook, Washerman and Barber only: Class 10 pass from a recognized Board.  AGE: 18yrs to 25yrs.

Age will be counted as on 15/05/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Physical Standards—
For Tailor, Gardener & Cobbler only: Height—167.5cms (162.5cms for ST); Chest (Unexpanded/ expanded)—78cms/ 83cms (77/81cms)
For Tailor (Female): Height—156cms (150 for ST); Chest – Not applicable.
For Water Carrier, Safaikarmachari, Cook, Washerman and Barber only: Height—170cms (162.5cms); Chest (Unexpanded/ Expanded)—80cms/85cms (76cms/81cms for ST)

Eye Vision (For all): Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glass.
N.B: Cut-off in Height and Chest for Hill area candidates & any other categories is as per Govt. norms (See the PDF file below for details).

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be issued admit card to appear in recruitment test in due course.  The date, time and place of recruitment test will be indicated in Admit Card. (See PDF file given below for details).

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may prepare the Application form on plain paper strictly as per format (See PDF below). The Application form shall be enclosed with attested copies of testimonials in support of qualification, experience (wherever applicable), age proof, caste certificate and Etc.
The Application form shall be also enclosed with 02 Self-addressed envelope (4x9inches) with affixed postage stamps of Rs.5/- on each.

Superscribe the top of the application containing envelope with – APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (__________) IN ITBP. 

Application Fee: Candidates belonging to General and OBC category shall pay fee of Rs.50/- only as Application Fee by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)”. CRFS stamps are available at the counter of all Post Offices of the country. Recruitment Fee Stamps should be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose and got cancelled from the Counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the issuing Post Office
NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST/ EX-SERVICEMAN AND FEMALE CANDIDATES.
