INSPECTOR OF LEGAL METROLOGY
No. of Vacancies: 17 Nos. (UR-08, OBC-A-02, SC-04, OBC-B-01, ST-01, PWD-01)
Educational Qualification: i) Graduate of a recognised University in Science (with Physics as one of the subjects), Technology or Engineering.
OR
Holds a recognised diploma in Engineering with 03 years experience in the field of Engineering in which the candidate has earned the diploma or in the field of Legal Metrology.
ii) Able to speak, read and write the regional language of the state, i.e., Bengali/ Nepali for the candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali.
Age Limit: Maximum 36 years as on 01/01/2020.
Pay Scale: Rs.9000 — Rs.40500
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and upto the age of 45 years for PWD category. Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

The selected candidate appointed to the post of Inspector of Legal Metrology will have to complete successfully the basic training course at the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology and clear Half-yearly Departmental Examination before he/ she is being considered for confirmation to the post.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Interview. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large, the Commission may restrict the number of candidates to be called for Interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualification/ higher marks/ grade obtained or on the basis of a Preliminary Screening Test (PST).
