Indo- Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) is recruiting 421 persons for the post of— Sub Inspector (Telecommunication), Head Constable (Telecommunication), Constable (Telecommunication) and Constable (Animal Transport). The posts were on Temporary basis but likely to become permanent. Details below—
SUB-INSPECTOR (TELECOMMUNICATION)
Posts: 11 nos. (Gen-8, SC-1, OBC-2)
Qualification: Bachelors degree in Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics and Communication/ Electronics and Instrumentation OR Bachelor in Computer Application OR B.E. in Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation/Computer Science/Electrical/Information Technology OR Associate Member of Institution of Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation /Computer Science/ Electrical/ Information Technology Engineers or equivalent.
Age: between 20yrs to 25yrs.
Pay scale: Rs.9300—Rs.34800 and grade pay Rs.4200
HEAD CONSTABLE (TELECOMMUNICATION)
Posts: 275 nos. (Gen- 159; SC-60; ST-19; OBC-37)
Qualification: Higher Secondary with 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Madhyamik pass candidates with ITI trade certificate of 2yrs in Electronics or Electrical OR Madhyamik pass with Science (PCM) and 3yrs diploma in Electronics/ Electrical/ Communication/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science or Informational Technology.
Age: between 18yrs to 25yrs
Pay scale: Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade pay Rs.2400
CONSTABLE (TELECOMMUNICATION)
Posts: 15 nos. (Gen-9; SC-2; ST-1; OBC-3)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass. Desirable—Diploma or Certificate course from ITI
Age: 18 yrs to 23yrs.
Pay scale: Rs.5200 – Rs. 20200 and Grade pay Rs.2000
CONSTABLE (ANIMAL TRANSPORT)
Posts: 120 nos. (Gen-76; SC-21; ST-08; OBC-15)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass candidates may apply.
Age: between 18yrs to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade pay Rs.2000
Age will be counted as on dated 26-04-2012. Age relaxation for OBC- 3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs and for rest of other categories—as per norms.
Height, Chest and Weight:-
Height: 170cms; 162.5cms for ST candidates and 165 cms for Hill area/states candidates.
Chest (unexpanded/expanded): 80/85 cms. For ST candidates—77/82 cms (for SI/Telecom) and 76/81 cms for HC/Telecom & CT/Telecom & CT/Animal Transport.
Weight: Corresponding to height and age as per medical standards.
Eye sight: 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without wearing any glasses.
Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect which may interfere in performance in duties.
Candidates will be selected through Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test, Interview and Medical Examination.
At beginning there will be Height measurement and if passed then will be race of 5 Kms to be completed within 24minutes. For the post of Sub-Inspector/Telecommunication there will be Race of 100 Meters within 16 seconds and Race of 1.6Kms within 6.5 Minutes.
Physical Efficiency Test will be only for the post of SI and HC (Telecommunication) which will be of— Long jump, High jump and Shot Put within 3 chances.
Written Examination will be of 100 marks of Objective types questions on followings— General English, General Hindi, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude Test and Simple Reasoning. Duration will be of 2hrs and answer will have to mark on OMR sheet with blue or black ball pen.
Qualified candidates will be called for Interview. There will be no interview for the post of Constable (Animal Transport). Date and venue of examination will be informed later to the candidates.

How to apply: Application can be made on prescribed format along with prescribed Admit card. Along with application form all documents in attested copies and Application fee of Rs.50 (For General and OBC candidates only) should be sent at the below mentioned address.
The application fee of Rs. 50 can be paid in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp or Indian Postal Order or by Bank Draft. Draft should be in favour— “Inspector General, North-West Frontier, ITBP, Payable at – SBI- AFS Chandigarh Code No – 1495”. Candidates opting to pay fee through Recruitment Fee stamp should affix the stamp at specified space and then get it cancelled from the clerk of the post office.
Along with application form, enclosed the following documents in attested copies—
- Educational Certificate, Experience/Trade certificate and Age proof certificate (Madhyamik certificate can be given for age verification)
- Caste certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Discharge certificate for ex-serviceman
- Two self addressed envelope (4×9 inches) with affixed postal stamp of Rs.5
- Draft or IPO of Rs.50
On the top of the envelope super scribed in bold letters— “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF………… IN ITBP”.
Last date: Application form should reach within 26th April 2012 (03/05/2012 for far flung areas).
