The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the JEE (Main) 2026 Session-1 Admit Cards starting 17 January 2026. Candidates scheduled for the initial days of the exam must download their hall tickets immediately to verify their allotted shifts and venues.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2026 Session-1 at various centers across India and 15 cities abroad. While many candidates have already completed their download, NTA has issued a set of critical “Advisory and Instructions” that are mandatory for every aspirant to follow to ensure entry into the exam hall.

JEE Main Admit Card 2026 Out

The NTA has activated the download link for candidates appearing on 21, 22, 23, and 24 January 2026. For those scheduled on the 28th and 29th of January, admit cards will be released in due course. Candidates must use the official portal, jeemain.nta.nic.in/, to secure their copy.

Important Documents/Items to Carry

Verification is strict; failing to bring the following in original will lead to disqualification at the gate:

  • Admit Card: A clear, preferably color printout on A4 size paper.
  • Photographs: At least two passport-size photos (same as uploaded in the application); one must be pasted on the Attendance Sheet.
  • Photo ID: A valid, original Photo ID proof as uploaded in the online form.
  • PwD Certificate: If claiming relaxation, the original PwD/PwBD certificate or UDID card issued by a Competent Authority.

Steps to Download the JEE Main Admit Card 2026

Candidates can access their hall tickets by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official NTA JEE website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
  2. Follow the link to download the Session-1 Admit Card.
  3. Ensure the QR Code and Barcode are visible on the card while downloading.
  4. Carefully read all instructions contained in the Admit Card and Information Bulletin.

Exclusive NTA Exam Day Instructions

  • Reporting Time: Arrive at the venue at the specific reporting time mentioned on the Admit Card. Candidates reporting after the gate closing time will not be allowed entry.
  • Non-Aadhaar Authentication: Candidates who did not register via Aadhaar must report at least 1 hour before the gate closing time for biometric recording.
  • Prohibited Items: No candidate should carry handbags, jewelry, watches (including electronic/calculator types), mobile phones, or any metallic items into the hall.
  • Rough Work: Blank A4 sheets will be provided; candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top and drop them in the designated box before leaving.
  • Post-Exam Requirement: The duly filled-in Admit Card must also be dropped in the designated Dropbox while leaving the room, or answers may not be evaluated.
  • Aadhaar Biometrics: Ensure your Aadhaar biometric authentication is not locked on the day of the exam to facilitate verification.
  • Religious Articles: Sikh candidates are permitted to wear a “KARA” and “KIRPAN”.
  • Diabetic Students: Allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (bananas/apples/oranges) and a transparent water bottle.

JEE Main 2026 Marking Scheme

The following marking applies to Sections A and B for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics:

  • Correct Answer: +4 Marks.
  • Incorrect Answer: -1 Mark.
  • Unanswered: 0 Marks.
  • Section B (Numerical): Answers must be rounded off to the nearest integer.
