ICMR – National Institute of Virology is recruiting eligible candidates for 11 posts of Junior Research Fellow, Project Technical Officer Medical Social Worker/ Lab), Project Scientist B (Medical), Project Technician- II (Lab), Senior Research Fellow and Project Technical Assistant (Lab). The vacancies are under various Non-Institutional ad-hoc projects. The candidates will be appointed on Temporary basis initially for three (03)/ six (06) months and may be extended based on performance of candidates and duration of projects. 1. JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos. (UR)
Name of the project: Strengthening/ promoting evidence based advocacy for influenza prevention and control in India.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate in Life Sciences with valid NET Qualification.
Desirable: i) Research work experience in the area of Molecular Biology, Animal Tissue culture, Virology, handling infectious agents, samples.
ii) Knowledge of computer applications for analysis, report writing & publication purpose.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 25,000/- per month.
2. PROJECT TECHNICAL OFFICER (MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER)

Educational Qualification: Graduate in MSW subject from a recognized university with five years work experience (or) Master’s degree in the above subject.

Name of the project wise vacancies: Diagnostic Laboratory Network.
Educational Qualification: MBBS Degree with MD in PSM/ MPH/ Microbiology.
Experience: Two years experience.
Desirable: i) Diploma in Public Health.
ii) Experience in Project Management.
iii) Knowledge of computer applications.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.61,000/- per month.
4. PROJECT TECHNICIAN II (LAB)

Name of the project wise vacancies: Diagnostic Laboratory Network.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation and one year Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT).
Experience: Five years experience.
Intermediate with Science subjects and B.Sc. will be treated as equivalent to 02 and 03 years experience respectively.
Desirable: i) Three years Degree in Life Sciences.
ii) Knowledge of computer applications.
iii) Experience in diagnostic lab/ field/ handling blood samples. Maintenance of plastic ware and consumables records, Washing, packing and sterilization of laboratory wares etc.

5. SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW

Name of the project: Development of recombinase polymerase amplification based point of care molecular diagnostic assays for detection of respiratory viral and vector borne viral diseases.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate In Life Sciences with valid NET qualification.
Experience: Two years research experience.
Desirable: i) Research work experience in the area of Molecular Biology, Animal Tissue culture/ Virology, handling infectious agents’ samples.
ii) Knowledge of computer applications for analysis, report writing & publication purpose.

6. PROJECT TECHNICAL OFFICER (LAB)

Educational Qualification: Graduate in Life Science subjects from a recognized university with five years work experience (or) Master’s degree in the above subjects.
Desirable: i) Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/ Tissue culture techniques/ Bioinformatics, Virological techniques, Serology, handling infectious agents and fieldwork.
ii) Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years.

7. PROJECT TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (LAB)
