The candidates will be engaged as Apprentices in various trades for the year 2018. The candidates will undergo training for a period of one year/ two years/ one year & three months/ six months. APPRENTICE
No. of Vacancies: 697 Nos. (Freshers: 426 (UR-214, OBC-116, SC-64, ST-32), Ex-ITI: 271 (UR-136, OBC-73, SC-42, ST-20))
Trades wise vacancies:
i) Carpenter: 54 posts (Fresher-36, Ex-ITI-18)
ii) Electrician: 116 posts (Fresher-66, Ex-ITI-50)
iii) Fitter: 230 posts (Fresher-100, Ex-ITI-130)
iv) Machinist: 48 posts (Fresher-32, Ex-ITI-16)
v) Painter: 30 posts (Fresher)
vi) Welder: 219 posts (Fresher-162, Ex-ITI-57)
Educational Qualification:
A) For Ex-ITI candidates:
i) Fitter, Electrician & Machinist:- a) Passed 10th Standard (under 10+2 system) with minimum 50% marks with Science and Maths or its equivalent. b) Should possess National Trade Certificate in respective trade.
ii) For Carpenter & Welder:- a) Passed 10th Standard (under 10+2 system) or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks. b) Should possess National Trade Certificate in respective trade.
B) For Fresher candidates:
i) Fitter, Electrician & Machinist:- Passed 10th Standard (under 10+2 system) with Science and Maths or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
ii) For Carpenter, Painter & Welder:- Passed 10th Standard (under 10+2 system) or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and maximum 24 years as on 01/10/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.5700/- for 1st year, Rs.6500/- for 2nd year & Rs.7350/- for 3rd year per month.
2. MEDICAL APPRENTICES
No. of Vacancies: 10 Nos. (Fresher: 08 (UR-04, OBC-02, SC-01, ST-01), Ex-ITI: 02 (UR-01, OBC-01))
Trades wise vacancies:
i) MLT- Radiology: 04 posts (Freshers)
ii) MLT- Pathology: 04 posts (Freshers)
iii) PASAA: 02 posts (Ex-ITI)
Educational Qualification:
A) Ex-ITI:
i) Programming and System Administration Assistant (PASAA):- a) Passed 10th Standard with minimum 50% marks. and (b) Should possess National Trade Certificate in the trade of Computer Operator and Programming Assistant.
B) Freshers:
i) MLT- Radiology & Pathology:- Passed 12th Standard examination (under 10+2 system) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and maximum 24 years as on 01/10/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.5700/- for 1st year, Rs.6500/- for 2nd year & Rs.7350/- for 3rd year per month.
Note: Candidates who have registered with a local employment exchange falling within the State of Tamilnadu are only eligible to apply. However, this condition does not apply to wards of Railway employees. Candidates with higher qualifications are not eligible to apply. (See official advertisement for more details)

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be on the basis of marks obtained in Academic Qualification.
