Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is recruiting eligible candidates for 04 posts of Senior Project Ecologist and Senior Project Biologist. The vacancies are for the Project entitled “Study on Blackbuck movements in and around kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary including Reserved Forests of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts of Uttar Pradesh in respect of proposal coal based Thermal Power” funded by Welspun Energy, UP Pvt. Ltd, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The candidates will be appointed on Contractual basis for a period of six months. 1. SENIOR PROJECT ECOLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 03 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Masters’ Degree in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Remote Sensing from a recognized University.
Experience: Two years’ experience in Wildlife Survey, occupancy, population estimation, habitat quantification using different approaches, knowledge of GIS, Data analysis, report writing.
Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having working experience in wildlife assessment and Survey.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 19/07/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 40,000/- per month.
2. SENIOR PROJECT BIOLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Masters’ Degree in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Biotechnology/ Animal Genetics from a recognized University.
Experience: Two years’ experience in DNA related techniques in identifying species and other genetic parameters from faecal matter, collection of samples, Wildlife Survey, knowledge of GIS, Data analysis, report writing.
Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having lab experience of two years in knowledge in DNA extraction, PCR amplification, electrophoresis and genetic data analysis.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 19/07/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 40,000/- per month.
