Indian Air Force invites online application for 256 approx posts of Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT- 02/2020) for Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches/ NCC Special Entry/ Meteorology Entry for Courses commencing in July 2021. INDIAN AIR FORCE INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 256 APPROX GROUP A GAZETTED OFFICERS IN FLYING AND GROUND DUTY (TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL) BRANCHES. LAST DATE — 14/07/2020

 

GROUP A GAZETTED OFFICERS IN FLYING AND GROUND DUTY (TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL) BRANCHES

No. of Vacancies: 256 approx Nos.

 

Educational Qualification:
(I) For Flying Branch:-
Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and-
(a) Graduation with minimum 03 years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(b) BE/ B.Tech degree (04 years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

 

(II) For Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:-
(a) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics):- Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of 04 years degree graduation/ integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-
i) Communication Engineering.
ii) Computer Engineering/Technology.
iii) Computer Engineering & Application.
iv) Computer Science and Engineering/Technology.
v) Electrical and Computer Engineering.
vi) Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
vii) Electrical Engineering.
viii) Electronics Engineering/ Technology.
ix) Electronics Science and Engineering.
x) Electronics.
xi) Electronics and Communication Engineering.
xii) Electronics and Computer Science.
xiii) Electronics and/or Telecommunication Engineering.
xiv) Electronics and/or Telecommunication Engineering (Microwave).
xv) Electronics and Computer Engineering.
xvi) Electronics Communication and Instrumentation Engineering.

(b) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical):- Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of 04 years degree graduation/ integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognised University OR cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-
i) Aerospace Engineering.
ii) Aeronautical Engineering.
iii) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
iv) Mechanical Engineering.
v) Mechanical Engineering and Automation.
vi) Mechanical Engineering (Production).
vii) Mechanical Engineering (Repair and Maintenance).
viii) Mechatronics.
ix) Industrial Engineering.
x) Manufacturing Engineering.
xi) Production and Industrial Engineering.
xii) Materials Science and Engineering.
xiii) Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
xiv) Aerospace and Applied Mechanics.
xv) Automotive Engineering.
xvi) Robotics
xvii) Nanotechnology
xviii) Rubber Technology and Rubber Engineering.

 

(III) For Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches:-
(a) For Administration:- Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum 03 years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
(b) For Education:- Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline.

(IV) For Meteorology (Meteorology Entry):- Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geophysics/ Environmental Biology with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% marks in each).

 

Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and maximum 24 years for Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry/ maximum 26 years for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch as on 01/07/2021.

 

Both Men and Women candidates are eligible to apply.


Marital Status:
Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/ Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.


Note:-

i) Candidates who are studying in the final year/ semester Degree course and are yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided candidate should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester/ year for which results have been declared up to the time of submission of application.
ii) Candidates who have failed the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) in an earlier attempt or a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible to apply in Flying Branch. Training for selected candidates is scheduled to commence in the first week of July, 2021 for all courses. The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.


Physical Standards:-
The candidates should possess the physical standards as laid by Indian Air Force, for more details please see the officially released advertisement.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through AFCAT Written Examination, Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) and SSB Test. The AFCAT (and EKT) Examination will be conducted on 19th September, 2020 and 20th September, 2020. For more details regarding selection process please see the officially released advertisement.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Examination Fee of Rs. 250/- for AFCAT Entry (not applicable for NCC special entry and Meteorology). Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Indian Air Force — https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 15/06/2020 to 14/07/2020.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO INDIAN AIR FORCE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
