Govt. of Rajasthan – Public Works Department, Rajasthan is recruiting 586 persons for the post of “Junior Engineer (Civil)” and “Junior Engineer (Electrical)” through Direct Recruitment Competitive Examination PWD – 2012. Advt.No. 01/2012. Diploma and Degree holders candidates in Engineering in relevant discipline may apply Online for the posts. Eligibility and criteria is given below in brief –
1. JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL) : 568 Nos.
No. of vacancies according to category wise and Degree/ Diploma wise—
Junior Engineer (Civil- Degree): 454 (Gen- 229; SC- 72; ST- 54; Backward Class- 95). Out of them PH- 13nos, Ex-Serv-56nos and Meritorious Sportsperson-9nos.
Qualification Required: Degree in Civil Engineering from recognised University/ Institute or equivalent. Candidates must have proficiency in Hindi and knowledge in Rajasthan’s culture.
Junior Engineer (Civil- Diploma): 114 Nos. (Gen- 59; SC- 18; ST- 13; Backward Class- 24). Out them PH- 3; Ex-Serv-14nos. and Meritorious Sportsperson-2nos.
Qualification Required: Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognised Institute. Candidates must have proficiency in Hindi and knowledge in Rajasthan’s culture.
2. JUNIOR ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL): 18 Nos.
No. of vacancies according to category and Degree/ Diploma wise is given below—
Junior Engineer (Electrical – Degree): 14 Nos. (Gen-6; SC- 3; ST- 3; Backward Class- 2). Out of them Ex-Serviceman—1 Nos.
Qualification Required: Degree in Electrical Engineering from recognised Institute/ University or equivalent. Candidates must have proficiency in Hindi and knowledge in Rajasthan’s culture.
Junior Engineer (Electrical – Diploma): 4 Nos. (Gen-3; ST-1)
Qualification Required: Diploma in Electrical Engineering from recognised Institute. Candidates must have proficiency in Hindi and knowledge in Rajasthan’s culture.
Pay Scale: After successful completion of probation/training period of 2 years; pay scale will be Rs.9300—Rs.34800 and Grade Pay—Rs.3200.
Age limit: Candidates must be between 18yrs to 37yrs as on 1/1/2012. Age relaxation is as per norms and rules.
N.B: Age relaxation and seat reservation is available only for the SC/ST/PH/ BC/ Ex-Serv., etc of candidates of Rajasthan. Candidates residing outside of Rajasthan should apply as General Candidates. No reservation and relaxation will be applicable for them.
Direct Recruitment Competitive Examination PWD will be held on 1st July 2012. The examination will be of 2 hours and will be of 100 marks. OMR sheet will be provided which has to be filled in black ball point pen. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. For syllabus and information, refer the Advt.
Admit Card— Admit card can be downloaded from the website of Rajasthan’s PWD by last 25/6/2012. Candidates will be to login with their Registration No., Mobile No and Date of Birth.
No Admit card will be send by post. Examination will be held at Jaipur.

During registration candidates should keep ready the scan copy of their passport size photographs, Signature and Left thumb impression. They will have to upload while making registration.
Application Fee: Candidates must pay the Application fee of Rs.500 (Rs.250 for Non-Creamy OBC and BC candidates of Rajasthan and Rs.125 for SC/ST candidates of Rajasthan) through Online system by Debit card/ Credit card or from C.S.C centre or KIOSK. After successful submission of Online application form; a system generated application with Unique Registration No. will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must make print-out copy of it and retain safely for future correspondence.
