Airports Authority of India, Southern Region, Chennai, is recruiting 272 persons from the candidates of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep for the post of – Junior Assistant (Fire Service), Assistant and Senior Assistant. Advt.No. 01/SR/2012. Details below—
1. Junior Assistant (Fire Service): 250 Nos. (Gen-127; SC-22; ST-23, OBC-78)
Grade—NE-4
Qualification: Matriculation (Class-10) pass and 3 yrs of regular course of Diploma in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Fire with minimum 50% marks OR Higher Secondary (Class-12) pass with minimum 50% marks.
Candidates should have Heavy Vehicle or Medium Vehicle or LMV driving license
Physical fitness—Height: 167cms; Chest (unexpanded/expanded): 81/86cms; Eye sight: 6/6 in Distant vision and N5 in Near vision with both eyes without glass. Candidates should have sound health and free from physical disputes.
Selection Steps: Written Test, Physical Measurement, Driving Test, Endurance test and Interview.
Age: within 30yrs
Pay scale: Rs.12500—Rs.28500
2. Assistant (Office): 15 Nos. (Gen-9, OBC-4, SC-1, ST-1)
Grade—NE-5
Qualification: Degree from a recognised University and Typing speed of 40 words per minute and working knowledge in Computer
Experience: minimum 2yrs of experience is required in concerned discipline

Pay scale: Rs.13400—Rs.30500
3. Senior Assistant (Statistics): 1 Nos. (PWD)
Grade—NE-6
Qualification: Post Graduate in Economics or Statistics or Maths.
Experience: minimum 2yrs experience in concerned discipline

Pay scale: Rs.14500—Rs.33500
4. Senior Assistant (OL- Hindi): 5 Nos. (Gen-3; OBC-1; ST-1)
Grade—NE-6
Qualification: i) Post Graduation Degree in Hindi along with English as a subject at graduation level or Post Graduation in English along with Hindi as a subject at graduation level. OR
ii) Post Graduation Degree in any other subject other than Hindi/English from a recognized University along with Hindi/English as a compulsory / optional subject at graduation level. OR
iii) Post Graduation Degree in any other subject other than Hindi/ English from a recognized University along with Hindi/English as a medium of education at Graduation level and Hindi/English as a compulsory / optional subject or as a medium of examination. OR
iv) Graduation Degree from any recognized University along with Hindi and English as compulsory / optional subject or either of the two as a medium of examination and other as a compulsory / optional subject.
Compulsory—Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English or vice-versa OR experience of 2yrs in Translation works.
Desirable—Knowledge of typing in Hindi is desirable.

5. Senior Assistant (Nursing): 1 (General)
Grade—NE-6
Qualification: Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery or its equivalent. Candidates should have registered as Nurse and Mid wife or equivalent with any State Nursing Council.
Experience: minimum 2yrs of experience in relevant discipline
Selection steps: through Written Test and Interview.
Age: within 35yrs
Pay scale: same as above.
Age Relaxation: Age of the candidates will counted as on 15th April 2012. Age relaxation for OBC—3yrs, SC/ST—5yrs; PWD—5yrs and Ex-serviceman—Length of service extended by 3yrs.
Centre for examination: As per selection steps according to posts applied for, written examination/Interview will be taken at – (I) Trichy, (II) Vijaywada, (III) Calicut and (IV) Mysore.
