Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) – School Education Department

Karnataka School Education Department invites online application for Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET)- 2019 for selection of Teachers. Candidates who intends to become Teachers for Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII may appear in the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET). Eligible and interested candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the Karnataka School Education Department (See link given below). Required educational qualification and other details for informational purposes only in interest of job-seekers, are given below in brief —

 

KARNATAKA SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR KARNATAKA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (KARTET)- 2019 FOR SELECTION OF TEACHERS. LAST DATE — 25/02/2020

 

KARNATAKA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (KARTET)- 2019

 

Educational Qualification:
i) Minimum Qualification for teaching class 1 to 5 (Paper-I):-
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 02- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 02- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 02- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

 

ii) Minimum qualification for teaching class 6 to 8 (Paper-II):-
Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 02- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 02- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 04- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 04- year B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Final-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

 

Note:- Relaxation of up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification will be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ ST/ C-I/ Differently abled.

 

Candidates who intends to become Teachers for Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII may appear in the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET).

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET). The test will be conducted in two papers i.e., Paper-I (For classes I to V) and Paper-II (For classes VI to VIII). The date of Examination is 15/03/2020 for both papers. A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear for both the papers (Paper I and Paper II). The candidates belonging to General/ 2A/ 2B/ 3A/ 3B should secure a minimum of 60% and SC/ ST/ C-I, Differently Abled Persons
should secure a minimum of 55% to qualify in the KARTET.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Examination Fee of Rs.700/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ST/CI only) for Paper- I or II only; Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/CI only) for both Paper- I and II. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF PWD CANDIDATES.

 

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Karnataka School Education Department — www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 25/01/2020 to 25/02/2020.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO KARNATAKA SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
