Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Municipal Service Commission, is recruiting 249 Nos. Boys and Girls for the post of Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) and Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical).

For Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical): Diploma Course Pass Boys/Girls in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic or its Equivalent can apply for Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical). One year practical training/Study/Research or Practical Engineering Experience in Municipal Engineering is required.

Pay Scale: Rs. 900- 40500 and Grade Pay: Rs.4800

Total Vacant Post: 204 Nos.
Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil): 80 Nos. (Gen-39; PH-2; OBC (category A)-7; OBC (category-B)-4; SC-21; ST-7)

Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical): 31 Nos. (Gen-14; PH-1; OBC (category A)-3; OBC (category-B)-3; SC-7; ST-3)

Sub-Assistant Engineer (Mechanical): 43 Nos. (Gen-20; PH-1; OBC (category A)-4; OBC (category-B)-3; SC-12; ST-3)

Beside this, there is 50 nos. vacant posts from Supplementary Panel against subsequent vacancies, among them Civil: 25 nos; Electrical:10 nos; Mechanical-15 Nos.

For Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical): Boys/Girls with Degree Course in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering can apply for the post.
One year Post Graduate practical training/study/research or practical Engineering experience And “O- Level” computer application course from AICTE approved institute is Desirable.

Beside these, there is 15 Nos vacant post from Supplementary Panel against subsequent vacancies, among them Civil: 5 nos; Elecrical: 5nos; Mechanical-5 Nos.

Selection of candidates will be made from Written Test which will be through Municipal Service Commission’s “Assistant Engineer and Sub Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) Recruitment Examination- 2011”.

First written test will be on Kolkata. Questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Types of 100 Marks based on Engineering branch. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

After Written Test there will be Personality Test.
