Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is recruiting 631 Boys/ Girls for the post of “Teacher (Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu)”. The selection will be through Competitive Examination to be held in Kolkata. Two panels will be prepared, one main panel against clear vacancies and one supplementary panel against subsequent vacancies. Qualification requirement and brief information is given below. Teacher (Urdu Medium for Male) : Main Panel : Total : 43 (General-18, Gen (PH)-02, SC-09, ST-03, OBC (A)-06, OBC (B)-05.
Supplementary Panel : Total : 22 (General-08, Gen (PH)-01, SC-05, ST-02, OBC (A)-03, OBC (B)-03.

Teacher (Urdu Medium for Female) : Main Panel : Total : 19 (General-07, Gen (PH)-01, SC-05, ST-02, OBC (A)-02, OBC (B)-02.
Supplementary Panel : Total : 09 (General-03, Gen (PH)-01, SC-02, ST-01, OBC (A)-01, OBC (B)-01.

Qualification Requirement: —
Higher Secondary pass under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education OR 45% marks and 2yrs of Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE OR
Graduation and 2yrs of Diploma in Elementary Education.

Higher Secondary pass candidates with at-least 50% marks or Graduation done candidates without D.Ed/ B.El.Ed/Special Education may also apply but in such cases, if candidates is appointed then they shall acquire the professional qualification within a period of 2yrs from the year of appointment.

N.B: All candidates must have studied and obtained Madhyamik (Secondary) Pass Certificate or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.

Pay scale: Rs.5400—Rs.25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600/-

Age Limits: between 18yrs to 40yrs as on 01-01-2012. Upper age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs; PH—10yrs and Others—as per norms.

Application fee: Rs.200 (Rs.50 for SC/ST/PH) is to be paid through any branches of United Bank in Account No. 0088050006323 vide fee payment challan specially designed and available at Commission’s website www.mscwb.org.

Selection of the candidates will be Preliminary Examination (Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions – 100 marks) and Main Examination (Conventional type question – 100 marks)
