Govt. of West Bengal, West Bengal Police is recruiting 2940 Female “Constable” from all districts of west Bengal. Only females can apply. Advt.No.4348-P.L./P.B./3P.14/11. Details given below—

Post:  Lady Constable 
Vacancies: 2940 Nos. Reservation of posts for SC/ST, OBC, Exempted Category, Ex-Serviceman and etc is as per govt. norms.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed Madhyamik Pariksha (X standard) conducted by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent examination under any Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government. Candidates with higher qualification were also eligible to apply.

Age: 18yrs to 27yrs as on dated 1-1-2012. Age relaxation—OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs.
N.B.: OBC and SC/ST candidates of outside West Bengal will not receive age relaxation; they should have to apply as General candidates only.

Physical Measurement:
Height: 160 CM (152 CM for candidates of SC/ST, Gorkha, Garoyali, Rajbangshi)
Weight: Should be proportional to age and height as per medical standard.
Eye sight: 6/6 with or without glass.
Candidates should be physically and mentally fit without any defects which may hinder the performance of duty.

Salary: Rs.5400 – Rs.25200 and Grade pay—Rs.2600 per month

Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board through Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test, Interview and finally Medical Examination.
On basis of application, candidates will be called for Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test. Physical Ability Test will be of—Race of 400 Meters in 2 Minutes.
If selected then later will be called for Written Test. Written Test will be of 90 Marks. The questions will be of Objective Types on followings—(I) General Awareness, (II) General Knowledge, (III) Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics. Answer has to be written on OMR sheet.
There will be Negative marking for wrong answers. The questions will be set in Hindi, Bengali, English and Nepali.
Qualified candidates from Written Test will be called for Interview of 10 marks. During interview candidates should bring all the required original documents.

During preparing of final merit list, the marks obtained in Written Test and Interview will be calculated.   After Interview, the candidates will have to go through Medical examination. Medical examination will be in selected govt. hospitals.
Finally certificates verification, if post is awarded then candidate will be sent to the Police Training School for training purposes.

How to apply: Application should be made on prescribed application form only. Application Form and Information brochure can be collected hand to hand from the office of the Superintendent of Police (S.P.) of the respective districts or can be collected from the office of Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
N.B.: Application form will be available only from dated- 27th Feb 2012 to 25th March 2012. During collection of Application form, candidates should bring Crossed Postal Order or Demand Draft of Rs.150 as application fee with them. IPO/ D.D. should be in favour of—“West Bengal Police Recruitment Board” and payable—“Kolkata GPO”. SC/ST candidates do not require Application fee but they should produce Caste Certificate during collection of Application Form.

Candidates of other states should apply only as General Candidates. For such candidates, application form can be collected from the following address—“Superintendent of Police, District South 24Paraganas, Alipore, Kolkata”.

Application Form should be filled in English only and with own handwriting, along with application form enclosed the following documents—

• 3 recent passport size photographs of size 4.5 x 3.5 cm (One copy pasted on application form and other two copies enclosed with application after writing the application serial No. on the backside of it).
• Attested copy of Madhyamik Admit Card for verification of Age
• Attested copies of Madhyamik Marksheet or Certificate
• Attested copy of Caste Certificate, for SC/ST and PH candidates
• Original D.D or IPO of Rs.150/-

Use 13inch x 10inch envelope to send the application form. N.B.—Do not fold the application form. Other documents enclosed can be fold if required.

One candidate should send only one application, applying more than once can lead to cancellation of all application. On the top of the application containing envelope, sub scribe—“Application for the post of Lady Constable in West Bengal Police”. On the right side, write your name and address.
