No. of Vacancies: 200 Nos. (Original Side: 48 posts (UR-27, SC-06, ST-07, OBC-08), Appellate Side: 152 posts (UR-84, SC-20, ST-23, OBC-25))
Educational Qualification:
i) Must have passed in the Higher Secondary Examination (12th standard) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination or its Equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board.
ii) Must have knowledge in the vernacular of the State.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on 01/01/2018.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5,400-25,200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 2,600/-
The vacancies are on the Original Side and on the Appellate Side establishments of the High Court at Calcutta. The appointments will initially be made on purely Temporary basis but are likely to be made Permanent.
Reserved Category candidates from the States other than West Bengal shall be treated as General Candidates.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST category. PWD candidates will get age relaxation up to 45 years of age. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary Screening Test, Competitive Written Test and Viva-Voce Test. The tentative date of Preliminary Screening Test is 24/02/2019. The examination will be held at Howrah, 24-Parganas (North), 24-Parganas (South), Kolkata, Siliguri, Berhampur at Murshidabad, Medinipore Sadar at Paschim Medinipore and Burdwan Sadar at Purba Burdwan.

NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF CANDIDATES BELONGING TO EXEMPTED CATEGORIES AND EX-SERVICEMAN CATEGORIES WHOSE NAMES WILL BE SPONSORED BY THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY/ AUTHORITIES.
