Mazagon Dock Limited is inviting application for backlog vacancies in Technical Staff and Skilled /Semi Skilled Grade Industrial Operatives & Security Sepoys from SC, ST, OBC candidates in various trades such as – Draughtsman, Store Keeper, Fitter, Fabricator, Mechanic, Lascar, Electronic Mechanic, Painter, Carpenter, Welder, Fire Fighter, Utility Hand, Grinder and Etc. The engagement will be on contract basis. Advertisement REF.NO DIV-REC-NE/BL /69/2014. Qualification norms and brief details are given below —
SKILLED GRADE – I (IDA – 5)
1. Jr. Draughtsman: 2 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the Trade of ‘Draughtsman’ in Mechanical Stream conducted by NCVT
2. Store Keeper: 3 Nos. (SC—1; ST—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Diploma Engineering passed in Mechanical, Electrical, & Electronics with Computer Knowledge preferably in SAP.
3. Fitter: 2 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Fitter”.
4. Structural Fabricator: 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Structural Fitter / Fabricator”.
The candidate having National Apprenticeship Certificate examination passed in “Sheet Metal Worker” trade will be also considered for “Trainee Structural Fabricator”.
5. Pipe Fitter: 11 Nos. (SC—1; ST—7; OBC—3)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Pipe Fitter”. Candidate who have passed ‘NAC’ in Plumber trade without Shipbuilding experience can apply for the post of “Trainee Pipe fitter”
6. Rigger: 10 Nos. (SC—6; OBC—4)
Qualification: Class VIII pass and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Rigger”.
7. Compressor Attendant: 1 Nos.
Qualification: The candidates who have passed NAC in Millwright Mechanic or Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance and worked in MDL/ Shipbuilding Industry as a Compressor Attendant for minimum one year may apply for the post of Compressor Attendant.
Candidates having passed SSC and passed NAC examination in the trade of Millwright Mechanic or Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance may apply for the post of “Trainee Compressor Attendant”.
8. Millwright Mechanic: 2 Nos. (SC—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of Millwright Mechanic / Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance.
9. Lascar: 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: Candidates shall posses GP rating seaman certificate from the DG Shipping approved Institute. Knowledge of Swimming is compulsory.
10. Electronic Mechanic: 2 Nos. (ST)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Electronic Mechanic”.
11. Painter: 5 Nos.
Qualification: Class VIII pass and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Painter”.
12. Carpenter: 4 Nos. (ST—1; OBC—3)
Qualification: Class VIII pass and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Carpenter”.
13. Composite Welder: 3 Nos. (SC—1; ST—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Class VIII pass and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Welder / Welder (G&E)”
SEMI SKILLED GRADE-III (IDA-4A)
14. Security Sepoy (Ex-Servicemen): 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent and has put in at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union and is otherwise considered fit to hold the post in view of his experience and other qualifications. Candidates conversant with Security Duties and holding valid commercial driving licence be preferred.
SEMI SKILLED GRADE-I (IDA-2)
15. Fire Fighter: 2 Nos. (SC—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: SSC or equivalent with Diploma / Certificate in Fire Fighting of minimum six months duration from a Govt. recognised institute. Candidates must posses a valid Heavy Duty Vehicle Licence.
16. Utility Hand: 3 Nos. (SC—1; ST—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Candidates who have passed SSC with NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Utility Hand for minimum period of one year may apply for the said post.
In case of non-availability of candidates as Utility Hand, candidates having passed SSC and NAC examination conducted by NCVT in the trade of Motor Vehicle Body Builder / Tool & Die Maker(Allied trade)/ Motor Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic and Instrument Mechanic may apply for the post of Utility Hand.
17. Chipper Grinder: 1 Nos. (ST)
Qualification: Candidates who have passed SSC and NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Chipper Grinder for minimum period of one year may apply for the said post directly. In case of non-availability of candidates as Chipper Grinder, the candidates having passed SSC with NAC examination conducted by NCVT in the trade of Machinist / Machinist(Grinder) / Turner may apply for the post of Trainee Chipper Grinder.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 33 years & minimum not less than 18 years as on 01.01.2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Selection of the candidates will be through Interview followed by Trade Test. Only eligible & short-listed candidates will be called for interview followed by trade test.
The selected candidates will be engaged in the above post on contract basis for a maximum period of two years.
