Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) is inviting application on prescribed application format for the selection of “Trade Apprentices” under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the following trades – Draughtsman, Electrician, Fitter, Painter, Mechanic, Carpenter, Rigger, Welder and Etc. Total vacancies – 295 Nos. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application. Qualification norms and brief details are given below —
GROUP ‘A’ (FOR CLASS 10 PASSED)

1. Draughtsman: 20 Nos.
2. Electrician: 21 Nos.
3. Fitter: 43 Nos.
4. Pipe Fitter: 28 Nos.
5. Structural Fitter: 23 Nos.
GROUP ‘B’ (FOR ITI PASSED)
Name of the Trades and No. of vacancies:
1. Painter (General): 15 Nos.
2. Electronic Mechanic: 15 Nos.
3. Carpenter: 15 Nos.
4. Fitter Structural: 30 Nos.
GROUP ‘C’ (CLASS 8TH PASSED)
Name of the Trades and No. of vacancies:
1. Rigger: 43 Nos.
2. Welder (G&E): 42 Nos.
Educational Qualification and Age limits: —
(I) For Group “A”: Passed SSC in first attempt with General Sciences & Mathematics with 50% marks (Pass marks for SC/ST)
Age: 15 to 19 years as on 01-10-2014.
(II) For Group “B”: Passed ITI in first attempt in the trade of Fitter, Painter (Gen), Carpenter & Electronic Mechanic with 50% marks (Pass marks for SC/ST). ITI pass candidates will be not be considered for trades in Group ‘A’ and Group ‘C’.
Age: 16 to 21 years as on 01-10-2014.
(III) For Group “C”: Passed Class VIII (8th) in first attempt with 50% marks (Pass marks for SC/ST)
Age: 14 to 18 years as on 01-10-2014.
Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination followed by Interview. Finally, there will be Medical Examination.
The date, time and venue of Written Test will be intimated to the eligible candidates by post as well as such information will be also published in the official website of MDL – www.mazagondock.giv,in (under ‘Career’ >> ‘Apprentice’)
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may obtained the prescribed Application form at GATE NO.9, ALCOCK YARD of the Company against the payment of Rs.50/- as Registration Form, from dated 19/06/2014 to 30/06/2014, during company’s working hours.
No fee for SC/ST candidates. Application form to SC/ST candidates will be provided free of cost upon submission of self-attested copy of Caste certificate.
Candidates may also download the said Application form from the official website of Mazagon Dock – www.mazagondock.gov.in (See live URL to Application form given below). However such downloaded Application form should be sent with the Demand Draft of Rs.50/- drawn in favour of Mazagon Dock Ltd, and payable at – Mumbai.
No D.D. required in case of SC/ST candidates. Such candidates shall enclose the attested copy of Caste Certificate.
