Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) is recruiting 1835 candidates for the post of Technical Staff and Operatives in various trades in Skilled & Semi-skilled grades. Advertisement Ref.No DIV-REC-NE/71/2014. The engagement will be on contract basis for a maximum period of 02 years. Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —
SPECIAL GRADE (IDA – 8)
1. Master 2nd Class: 1 Nos.
Qualification: Certificate of competency (2nd class Master) and shall have knowledge of Swimming. Minimum 3 yrs experience of operating Tugs from 226 to 565 BHP
SKILLED GRADE – I (IDA-5)
2. Jr. Draughtsman: 19 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate” Examination in the Trade of ‘Draughtsman’ in Mechanical Stream
3. Jr. Planner Estimator (Mech): 12 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or Higher Secondary with 3yrs Diploma (with 55% marks) or Degree (pass marks) in Mechanical (Mechanical/Mechanical & Industrial Engg./Mechanical & Production Engg./Production Engg.) / Marine Engineering
4. Jr. Planner Estimator (Elect./ Electronics): 10 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or Higher Secondary with 3yrs Diploma (with 55% marks) or Degree (pass marks) in Electrical ( Electrical / Power Engineering / Electrical & Electronics/Electrical & Instrumentation) / Electronics (Electronics / Electronics & Communication /Allied Electronics & Instrumentation /Electronics & Telecommunication) / Marine Engineering
5. Jr. Q C Inspector (Mech.): 17 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or Higher Secondary with 3yrs Diploma (with 55% marks) or Degree (pass marks) in Mechanical ( Mechanical/Mechanical & Industrial Engg./Mechanical & Production Engg./Production Engg) or Marine Engineering.
6. Jr. Q C Inspector (Electrical): 3 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or Higher Secondary with 3yrs Diploma (with 55% marks) or Degree (pass marks) in Electrical ( Electrical / Power Engineering / Electrical & Electronics/Electrical & Instrumentation) / Marine Engineering
7. Storekeeper: 10 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or Higher Secondary with 3yrs Engineering Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Computer engineering .Additional qualification in Material Management & Knowledge of Computer will be Preferred
8 Fitter: 281 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Fitter”.
9. Structural Fabricator: 260 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Structural Fitter / Fabricator”. The candidate having National Apprenticeship Certificate examination passed in “Sheet Metal Worker” trade will be considered for “Trainee Structural Fabricator”.
10. Pipe Fitter: 292 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Pipe Fitter” or “Plumber”
11. Electronic Mechanic: 55 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and NAC in the trade of “Electronic Mechanic”.
12. Electrician: 198 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and NAC in the trade of Electrician.
13. Electric Crane Operator: 4 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and NAC in Electrician trade.
14. Painter: 59 Nos.
Qualification: Passed VIII std and NAC in the trade of “Painter”.
15. Carpenter: 42 Nos.
Qualification: Passed VIII std and NAC in the trade of “Carpenter”.
16. Comp. Welder: 174 Nos.
Qualification: Passed VIII std and NAC in the trade of “Welder/ Welder (G&E)”.
17. Rigger: 128 Nos.
Qualification: Passed VIII std and NAC in the trade of “Rigger”.
18. Machinist: 14 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and NAC in the trade of “Machinist”.
19. Compressor Attendant: 3 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation & NAC in Millwright Mechanic or Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance
20. Diesel Crane Operator: 1 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and NAC in the trade of “Diesel Mechanic” with valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence
SEMI SKILLED GRADE-III (IDA – 4A)
21. Security Sepoy (Ex- Servicemen): 21 Nos.
Qualification: Ex-Servicemen (See the PDF file given below)
SEMI SKILLED GRADE-I (IDA-2)
22. Utility Hand: 127 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation and NAC in any trade or in the trade of Motor Vehicle Body Builder / Tool & Die Maker(Allied trade)/ Motor Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic and Instrument Mechanic.
23. Chipper Grinder: 104 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation and NAC in the trade of Machinist / Machinist (Grinder) / Turner.
Desirable Experience (for all vacancies): Work experience in the relevant trade/function in a Shipbuilding industry for minimum one year duly certified by their Personnel Department is desirable. Candidates with experience in Shipbuilding Industry will be engaged in the post directly whereas candidates without experience will be engaged as “Trainee” (Not applicable for all vacancies. Age Limit (for all posts) : The maximum age limit is 33 years & minimum not less than 18 years as on 01.06.2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
