In West Bengal Government’s various offices and divisions, recruitment of few hundred Boys and Girls were going on for the post of Inspector, Sub-Inspector, Controller, Auditor and etc. Graduate pass boys/girls may apply for the post. Selection will be through Miscellaneous Services Recruitment Examination- 2011, Public Service Commission (PSC).
Graduate boys and girls, in any stream, may apply. Age should be between 20-32yrs as on 1-1-2011, i.e. Date of Birth should be between 2-1-1979—1-1-1991. West Bengal’s SC/ST candidates will receive 5yrs, OBC-3yrs and PH-13 yrs as Age relaxation. Candidates from Assam, Tripura and Bihar will have to apply as General Candidates.
For the post of Sub- Inspector in Excise Office, candidates should be 160 cm in height (152.4 cm for Adivasis and Gorkhas) and Chest unexpanded/expanded—71cm/76cm. Females should not apply for this post only. For rest of the posts both male and female may apply.

Note: For the post of “Sub Inspector” of Excise, females may not apply and for the post of “Lady Extension officer” Males may not apply.
Pay Scale: Rs.7100-37600 and Grade Pay—Rs.3900 (for post No.1 to No.12 given above)

Beside pay scale, there are many other allowances. Jobs will be on temporary basis.

Mode of Selection: Candidate’s selection will be made through Miscellaneous Services Recruitment Examination- 2011 of Public Service Commission (PSC). Exam will be step by step, (I) Preliminary Examination, (II) Final Main Exam and (III) Personality Test
Preliminary Exam will be of 1 ½ hours on General Studies and Arithmetic. Questions will be Objective Multiple Choice Types of 200 marks.
If selected on Preliminary Test, will be called for Main Exam. Main exam will be on three papers (I) English, (II) Bengali or Hindi, (III) General Studies and Arithmetic.
Finally selected candidates will be call for Personality Test
How to apply: Application can be prepared according to the available format. Along with application, following documents should be enclosed:-
- One recent passport size photo with self-signature on it and paste it on the Application form
- Attested copy of Admit card of Madhyamik examination for age proof and attested copies of all educational certificates
- Attested copies of all required certificate in case of SC/ST, OBC and PH
- Two self-addressed envelopes without any postal stamp
- Demand Draft or Treasury Challan of Rs. 160. Postal Order should be in favour of “The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal” and payable at- “G.P.O. Kolkata”.
Challan should be in Government Treasury or Kolkata’s Reserve Bank of India on following title—“0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees- 001-Examination fees-16 other Fees”.
For SC/ST or PH candidates there is no fee.
All documents can be Self-Attested or make attested from Gazetted Officer/principal of High School or College.
On the top of the Envelope containing application form, super scribe: “Miscellaneous Services Recruitment Examination 2011” and “Centre of Examination opted…….., Advt. No. 06/2011.
