MPHC Stenographer & Assistant Grade-III Recruitment 2026: The High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur has released a notification (No. 666/Exam/2026) to recruit Stenographer Grade-II, Stenographer Grade-III, Stenographer Grade-III (Court Manager Staff), and Assistant Grade-III (English Knowing) in the District and Sessions Courts of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 418 vacancies will be filled across 4 posts.

Eligible Indian Nationals can submit their application online from 06 October 2026 to 27 October 2026. The selection process will be done on the basis of an Online Preliminary Examination (100 marks) and a Skill Test of Hindi/English Shorthand (100 marks). The pay scale is Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200 with Grade Pay ranging from Rs. 1,900 to Rs. 2,800 (as per 6th CPC).

MPHC Stenographer & Assistant Grade-III Age Limit 2026

Age will be calculated as on 01.01.2026. The minimum age required is 18 years.

Note:

  1. An Ex-Serviceman applicant will be allowed to deduct the entire period of defence service from his age, but the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit by more than three years.
  2. Employees of MP High Court or District Courts of M.P. who are serving (or have served) on contract posts equivalent to or higher than the vacant post for at least 5 years will get age relaxation equal to the contract service period, provided their age does not exceed 55 years.
  3. Since recruitment is being held in 2026, age will be calculated as on 01.01.2026 as per rules.

MPHC Stenographer Selection Process 2026

The examination will be held in two stages:

  1. Online Preliminary Examination (100 marks)
  2. Hindi Shorthand / English Shorthand Skill Test (100 marks)

(*For candidates choosing Assistant Grade-III (English Knowing), the English Shorthand exam will be conducted.)

Note: The Preliminary Exam is only for screening. Its marks will not be considered in the final result.

MPHC Stenographer & Assistant Grade-III Online Preliminary Exam Pattern 2026

The online preliminary exam will be common for all posts and will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ Type). The exam will be of maximum 100 marks, with each question carrying 01 (one) mark. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes.

MPHC Stenographer Preliminary Exam Result & Shortlisting

  • For Stenographer Grade-II, Stenographer Grade-III, and Stenographer Grade-III (Court Manager Staff): The result will be prepared on the basis of merit of marks obtained. Candidates securing a place in the merit of each category in the ratio of 1:5 (approximately 5 candidates per post, including all candidates with the same cut-off marks even if their number exceeds the 1:5 ratio) will be declared successful for the Hindi Shorthand Skill Test. The skill test for these posts will be held collectively.
  • For Assistant Grade-III (English Knowing): The result will be prepared on the basis of merit of marks obtained. Candidates securing a place in the merit of each category in the ratio of 1:5 (approximately 5 candidates per post, including all candidates with the same cut-off marks even if their number exceeds the 1:5 ratio) will be declared successful for the English Shorthand Skill Test.

Note:

  • A note-book will be provided for taking dictation in the skill tests. If the dictation is written in long hand in the said note-book, full marks will be deducted.
  • A mock dictation will be given before the actual dictation to ensure that all candidates can hear the dictation clearly.
  • Candidates creating noise/disturbance during Hindi/English dictation, causing any kind of disturbance in transcription/typing, or indulging in unnecessary arguments will be expelled from the examination hall and their candidature will be cancelled.
  • The skill test is qualifying in nature.

Note:

  • The above fee is subject to change and candidates will have to pay the changed fee if circumstances change. There is no provision for refund or adjustment of the application fee.

MPHC Stenographer Skill Test Portal Charge 2026

Candidates who qualify for the Hindi/English Shorthand Skill Test will have to pay Rs. 743.40/- (Portal Fee) online to the service provider. A web link will be provided on the High Court’s website. Candidates who do not pay this amount will be considered unwilling for the skill test and their candidature will be cancelled.

How to Apply for MPHC Stenographer Recruitment 2026?

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website of MPHC.

  1. Go to the official website www.mphc.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “Recruitment/Result” button.
  3. Click on “Click on-Online Application Forms/Admit Cards”.
  4. Four links will be available: I. Advertisement, II. Registration, III. Application, IV. Edit Application.
  5. Click on the Advertisement link and read all instructions carefully.
  6. Click on the Registration link and enter the required information. A User-ID & Password will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
  7. Click on the Application link and complete the application form, upload photo and signature.
  8. Preview the form and click on the Submit button.
  9. Pay the prescribed fee through Debit Card or Internet Banking.
  10. After payment, take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future processes.
