Municipal Service Commission, Kolkata requires 34 Assistant Engineer and Sub-Asst. Engineer (Electrical). Last Dt. 28/02/2014

Municipal Service Commission (MSC) is recruiting 34 – Assistant Engineer (Electrical) and Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical) in Kolkata Municipal Corporation through Recruitment Examination, 2014. Advertisement No. 1 of 2014. Eligible and Interested Indian citizens may apply on prescribed application format. Educational qualification norms and brief details of the vacancies are given below —

1. Assistant Engineer (Electrical) 
Tentative vacancies : — 
Main Panel : Total – 07 Nos. [Gen-04, S.C.-02, OBC(A)-01].
Supplementary Panel: Total -04 Nos. [Gen-02, ST-01, Gen (PH)-01].

Essential Qualification: A degree in Electrical Engineering of a recognized University or its equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : i) One year’s post graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience. ii) Passing the examination of “O” level in computer application approved by AICTE.

Pay : Rs.15,600/- — Rs.42,000/-, Grade Pay 5400/-
Age: 18yrs to 37yrs.

2. Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical)
Tentative vacancies: — 
Main Panel : Total – 15 (Gen-07, S.C.-05, OBC(A)-01 OBC (B)-02).
Supplementary Panel: Total -08 (Gen-04, Gen (PH)-01,SC-01,ST-01, OBC (A)-01)

Essential Qualification: (i) A diploma in Electrical Engineering from the State Council for Engineering or Technical Education or its equivalent AND ii) One year’s practical training or study or practical engineering experience in Municipal Engineering work.
Desirable Qualification : Working knowledge in computer is preferable

Pay: Rs.9000/- — Rs.40,500 and Grade Pay: Rs.4400/-
Age: 18yrs to 37yrs.

Upper age relaxation: Age will be counted as on 01/01/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs and Others – As per norms.

Candidates’ Selection: The Commission will conduct Preliminary Test, Written Test and interview as the case may be. The scheme and syllabus of the screening test/written test etc. will be given on the Commission’s website later on.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply shall pay Application Fee of Rs.150/- and processing charge of Rs.50/- (i.e. Rs.200/- in total) through bank transaction from any branches of United Bank of India to A/C No. 0088050006323 vide challan specially designed and available at Commission’s website —www.mscwb.org. (See PDF below).
One part of the challan meant for Commission will have to be attached with the application form, failing which the application will be rejected.

NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ ST AND PH CANDIDATES. THEY SHALL PAY ONLY PROCESSING FEE OF RS.50/- 

N.B: Candidates shall pay Bank Charge of Rs.20/- additionally on per bank transaction. 

How to Apply: Interested candidates shall apply on prescribed application format along with Self-attested copies of documents/certificates in support of age, caste, qualification and experience (if any) etc., whichever are applicable.

Last Date and Address: The duly filled Application form along with enclosures shall be addressed to the — Secretary, Municipal Service Commission, 149, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata – 700 014, so as to reach on or before 28/02/2014.
Candidates shall sent their application by ORDINARY POST or may drop their envelope in the drop-box kept at the Commission’s Office at the above mentioned address.

The envelope containing the application forms and documents must bear the name of the post applied for and category of the candidate.
