Total 418 vacancies will be filled on the basis of the results of the examination out of which 370 Posts are for National Defence Academy and 48 Posts are for Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme). NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY AND NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION (I), 2020
No. of Vacancies: 418 Nos.
i) National Defence Academy: 370 posts (208 posts for Army, 42 posts for Navy and 120 posts for Air Force (including 28 for ground Duties))
ii) Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 48 posts
Educational Qualification:
i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy:- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a recognized Board or University.
ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy:- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a recognized Board or University.
iii) Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
Age Limit: Born not earlier than 02/07/2001 and not later than 01/07/2004.
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2020 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 145th Course, and for the 107th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd January, 2021.
Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply.
The candidates selected for the three services namely, Army, Navy and Air Force will be given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of 03 years at the National Defence Academy.
The candidates selected for the Naval Academy will be given preliminary training both academic and physical, for a period of 04 years at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
Note:- The candidates should meet the prescribed Physical Standards requirement as laid by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). For details please see the Official Advt.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination and SSB Test/ Interview. For more details please see the Official Advt. The Written Examination will be conducted on 19th April, 2020 at various centres across India.

NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ ST/ SONS OF SERVING/ EX-JUNIOR COMMISSIONED OFFICERS/ NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS/ OTHER RANKS OF ARMY AND EQUIVALENT RANKS IN THE INDIAN NAVY/ INDIAN AIR FORCE IF THEY ARE STUDYING IN MILITARY SCHOOL/ SAINIK SCHOOL.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) AT THIS STAGE.
