Naval Dockyard Apprentice Training School- Madhyamik boys/girls with ITI’s Trade Certificate may apply.

The Naval Dockyard Apprentice School of Mumbai is recruiting from 285 ITI done boys/girls in various trades as well as for enrollment to Apprenticeship Training under Apprentices Act, 1961. Madhyamik boys/girls with ITI in any one of the below given 18 Nos. Trades may apply.

As per Apprentices Act- 1961, the training is of one year to 2 years—
One year trainings will be on following trades:-
1. Machinist: 20 seats
2. Engine Fitter: 25 seats
3. Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance: 20 seats
4. Instrument Mechanic: 15 seats
5. Electroplater: 5 seats
6. Welder: 10 seats
7. Painter General: 30 seats
8. Mason (B.B.): 15 seats

2 years training will be on following Trades—
1. Diesel Mechanic: 20
2. Foundry Man: 5 seats
3. Mechanic Radio & Radio (Aircraft): 10 seats
4. Power Electrician: 20 seats
5. Shipwright Steel: 25 seats
6. Ship Fitter: 20 seats
7. Shipwright Wood: 15 seats
8. Rigor: 20 seats
9. Forger & Heat Treater: 5 seats
10. Crane Operator: 5 seats

Qualification of the Candidates: Candidates willing to apply should be Madhyamik (Matriculation) pass with minimum 50% marks in total and with ITI’s Trade Certificate course in any one of the above mentioned Trades acquiring 65% marks.
But for Trades like Shipwright Wood and Rigor only candidates with Carpenter Trade Certificate may apply. Likewise for Shipwright Steel Trade; Fitter Trade may apply, For Ship Fitter Trade; Plumber may apply, for Power Electrician Trade; Electrician may apply and for Mechanic (Radio & Radar) Trade; Mechanic (Radio & TV) or Electronics Mechanic Trade Certificate holder may apply.
NB: Candidates who have taken or is taking Apprenticeship training for any Government or semi-government or non-government Institutes/Training centre are not eligible to apply.

Physical Measurement: Height—150 cm; Chest: should have ability to expand by 5 cm and Weight—45 Kg. Eyesight—6/6 to 6/9 (With Glass- 6/9) with both eyes.

Age Limits: birth date of candidates should be within 31-3-1991 to 31-3-1998. Age relaxation for SC/ST-5yrs.

Stipend per month will be given to candidates on basis of Trades—Rs.1490, Rs.1700, Rs.1970, Rs.2220. Training will begin from the month of April 2012. After completion of Training; Job is not guaranteed for all.

Selection modes: Candidates will be primarily selected on basis of marks obtained in Madhyamik and ITI. Call letters for Written Test will be dispatched to the candidates on the month of January. Written Test will be of Madhyamik level syllabus on—(i) Mathematics, (ii) General Knowledge and (iii) General Science.
If selected then will be called for Interview and Medical examination.

How to apply: Prepare the Application as per given format on plain paper (Hall Ticket should be prepared on 2 copies). Along with application form, enclosed the following documents—

• Attested copies of Madhyamik and ITI Certificates and Mark sheets
• One self-addressed envelope (22x10cm) with affix postal stamp of Rs.5
• Recent 3 Nos. passport size photographs with attestation from ITI’s Principal or Gazetted Officer (Paste one photo on Application form and two photos on two Nos. Hall Tickets)
• Attested Caste/PH certificates 
• Character Certificate (Should be issued by the Principal of ITI only)
